Hallmark Alum’s Wife Pays Tribute to Late Mom After Tragedy At Their Home

Marc Blucas’ mother-in-law, model Dayle Haddon, died in a tragic carbon monoxide poisoning accident in the Hallmark alum’s home on Friday, December 27. Blucas’ wife, Ryan Haddon, shared a touching tribute to her mother on social media, and support is pouring in from friends, colleagues and fans.

Blucas is known among Hallmark fans for movies like “Miss Christmas” opposite Brooke D’Orsay, “Operation Christmas” opposite Tricia Helfer, and “Good Morning Christmas!” opposite Alison Sweeney. Ryan Haddon is a journalist and producer, ABC 7 reported. The unexpected tragedy is reverberating across social media, as celebrities and friends send tributes and words of support.

Marc Blucas’ Dad Is Hospitalized in Critical Condition

Dayle Haddon, 76, was found dead from a suspected carbon monoxide leak in a Bucks County, Pennsylvania, home, CBS News reported. The home is owned by Marc Blucas and Ryan Haddon.

The fire department detected high levels of carbon monoxide in the property’s detached in-law suit, CBS News reported. Police determined the source was a gas heating system with a faulty flue and exhaust pipe.

Police went to the home after a resident called early Friday morning to report a 76-year-old man (later identified as Walter J. Blucas) passed out in front of a detached suite on the property, CBS reported. He was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. According to NBC 10, Walter is Marc’s father.

Haddon was found dead in a second-floor bedroom of the in-law suite, CBS News reported.

Family in the main house were not affected, ABC 7 reported.

Ryan Haddon wrote a beautiful, touching post about her mom on Instagram on December 28, sharing how inspiring her mother was and how much she will miss her.

She said, in part: “She was a woman in her power, yet soft and attentive to all. Deeply creative and curious, gifted with beauty inside and out. Always kind and thoughtful. In conversation, she could go to the deepest of places and also soar the highest heights of spiritual understanding.”

Haddon went on to write about her trust in life’s timing.

“I always trust the timing of things,” she wrote. “There are no accidents and certainly how we enter and exit this world is mystical and unknowable. She was a high-hearted spiritual being that put value on her soul’s evolution, so I know her journey here in this dimension must have been complete.”

Haddon shared that her mother was a “pure heart” and many people had spoken out about what an impact she had made on their lives.

“I honor her,” she wrote. “I bow to her. I revere all the paths and adventures taken. I saw her be golden and always reach for the Light in all areas of her life. … She loved so many. A pure heart. A rich inner life. Touching so many lives. A life well lived.”

Friends, Family & Colleagues Are Sharing Touching Tributes to Dayle Haddon

Dayle Haddon was a supermodel in the 1970s and 1980s, and later became an ambassador for UNICEF and the founder of WomenOne, a nonprofit that works to create educational opportunities for girls and women. She was featured in Vogue in August, ABC 7 reported.

Now people are flooding social media to share touching tributes to the woman so loved by the Blucas family.

Shayna Haddon, Dayle’s niece, wrote a loving tribute to her aunt which read, in part: “She guided me, gently and purposefully through so many of my life moments. We travelled the world together and had more adventures than I can count… She taught other women how to be in their power and how to rise to any occasion. She always knew the way.”

Cindy Crawford replied to Ryan’s tribute, writing: “Ryan—so sorry to hear this sad news. 💔💔💔.”

Sandy Linter, a renowned makeup artist, told ABC 7: “She was chic, elegant. She always remembered you. It was a tragic accident. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry for her family.”

Phillip Bloch replied to Ryan’s post, writing: “Your mother was an inspiration to me. As a teenager trying to find what I wanted to do, her images inspired me to move towards fashion and how lucky was I … several decades later, I got to meet her and spend time with her and have some of those amazing conversations, and i considered it a great honor.”

Veronica Webb replied, “Dayle was a sweet spectacular woman. Kindness was her hallmark and class was her calling card. She will be missed among us. 🕊️🕊️🕊️”

Nancy Davis shared a tribute, writing: “She was the most elegant graceful, kind and gorgeous woman who was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She truly felt like an Angel on this earth . Sending so much love to her amazing daughter.”

Laura Helms shared a video of Dayle Haddon and wrote: “Stunning model, actress, humanitarian, and always one of the kindest women I ever interacted with—just a gem of a person, inside and out. Not only was Dayle a true supermodel, working with almost every major fashion photographer of the 1970s and 80s, but she also acted in some truly sensational movies in the US and Europe. Watching the films Dayle did with Just Jaeckin (‘Madame Claude’ and ‘The Last Romantic Lover’) on the big screen is a revelatory experience—her face was truly made for cinema. Here she is, sparkling and stunning, chatting with Dalila Di Lazzaro in a clip from Jaeckin’s ‘Le dernier amant romantique’/‘The Last Romantic Lover’ (1978).”
