After a nearly year-long battle with breast cancer, Hallmark star Lyndie Greenwood was thrilled to announce on June 11, 2025, that she’s not only completed her chemotherapy treatments, but that her doctors have declared her to be “cured.”
Captioning an Instagram post full of photos from a trip to Hawaii with her husband of six years, producer Ben Jamieson, the “Crimetime: Freefall” star wrote, “Ben and I just got back from a week in Maui where we were celebrating my birthday, and also being… CANCER FREE!!! That’s right, y’all. I’m all done with chemo, and at this point the docs consider me CURED. It is the best birthday gift I ever could receive.”
Lyndie Greenwood Says She’s ‘On the Verge of Tears Every Moment’ Over Being Cancer Free
Greenwood, who just turned 42, went public with her breast cancer battle in March, revealing that she was first diagnosed in September and underwent a double mastectomy and multiple reconstruction surgeries before starting chemotherapy.
“My heart is so full,” she wrote in her June 11 post. “I feel like I’m on the verge of tears every moment. I’m so grateful for the support from you all, for the medical care I’ve received, for everything. Thank you thank you for a little more time on this earth!! I’m hugging into the ether and hoping y’all can feel it.”
Greenwood noted that when she got the news, she had been working on a lengthy blog post about her chemo regimen, which she opted to still publish for anyone curious about her experience. She has periodically written about her journey on a Substack blog to provide insights about what it’s really like to be a cancer patient.
In her latest post, she vulnerably shared, “Chemo has felt like dying. I’ve watched my body, almost from above, as it slowed to a pace I didn’t recognize. Trying to will your body to do something it did easily the week before and failing is a trip. It’s confusing but also illuminating. I didn’t realize all the ways in which my body was working so well before. I couldn’t have – it was always just my reality. This experience has allowed me to touch what it’s like to be differently abled from myself.”
Greenwood also discussed some of the side effects that came with chemo, from a rash to noticing, as she typed, “I see that at least one of my finger nails is probably going to fall off due to onycholysis (a relatively common side effect). This is a sacrifice I am willing to make to be CANCER FREE.”
Friends & Fans Celebrate Lyndie Greenwood’s Awesome Birthday News
Greenwood’s post, full of photos of her bald and beaming in Hawaii, was met with comments from fans and friends — including Hallmark colleagues — who were thrilled to read her good news.
Her “Every Time a Bell Rings” co-star (and frequent Hallmark director) Ali Liebert wrote, “Omgooodness incredible news ever love ❤️❤️❤️ hbd”
Holly Robinson Peete, who co-starred with Greenwood in “Holiday Heritage,” commented, “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 happy birthday to YOU!!!”
Brooks Darnell, another “Holiday Heritage” co-star, wrote, “🔥🔥🔥🔥. So happy for you. Earth need ya”
“Harlem” and “Empire” actress Grace Byers chimed in, “YES LYNDIE!!! Best gift ever!! Happy {Re} BIRTH! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽”
As for what’s next for Greenwood, she may still need to begin an anti-hormonal treatment that she previously indicated she’d be required to start post-chemo. Greenwood has not been able to work throughout her cancer battle, she shared earlier in the year, so it’s not clear when or if she’ll be able to return to Hallmark with a new project.
