Hallmark’s newest movie, “Love on the Danube: Kissing Stars” premieres on Saturday, May 31, at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. It stars Sarah Power and Brendan Penny. ‘Love on the Danube: Kissing Stars’ Was Filmed in Europe
“Love on the Danube: Kissing Stars” was filmed in various locations in Europe, including on the Danube River, Parade reported. According to IMDb, the main filming location was Budapest, Hungary. But some filming also took place in Austria and Germany, according to a cast post.
A post on Facebook also mentioned that Emerald Cruises served as the backdrop for this and the other “Love on the Danube” films.
Power shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram from when the movie was filmed. She wrote, “Turns out, filming a movie in Europe on a cruise with new friends and old friends is a super fun amazing experience!❤️”
Mark Holden, another actor in the film, shared an official still from the movie.
Katie Sheridan posted in July 2024 during filming, “When you get to stay and film on a River Cruise 💫⚓️🎬 This was such a lovely job to do. Excited to see Hallmark’s Love on the Danube movie collection is coming soon! 💕”
And Andrea Canning, who wrote the screenplay, shared that she has a cameo as “Rom Com Mom” in this film.
She wrote: “All three movies took place on a river cruise and surrounding Danube towns. A once in a lifetime memory! Austria, Germany, Hungary. Thank you @sarahspower and @therealbrendan_penny for making me feel so comfortable!
In a Reddit discussion, one Hallmark fan shared that all these movies are leaving them wanting to take a Danube River cruise. One person, SherbetGood6914, replied: “I went on an 8 day Danube cruise – Munich to Budapest. I’m seeing many of the places we visited. It’s so nice not to have to unpack every time we moved to a new country. We went on Tauck. It’s all-inclusive. It seems more expensive than others, but when you compare to Viking and Avalon’s that have charges for many things, it comes out almost even, plus it’s hassle-free.”

Hallmark’s synopsis reads: “Savannah, a publicist, reluctantly works with Tripp, a celebrity who is having trouble connecting with his fans, abroad a cruise promoting his latest film.”
Sarah Power is Savannah. According to her Hallmark bio, she’s perhaps best known among Hallmark viewers for her role as Abigail on “Good Witch.” She has many other TV credits, including “Schitt’s Creek,” “The Killjoys,” “Designated Survivor,” “American Gothic,” “Rosewood,” and Hallmark films.
Brendan Penny is Tripp. According to his Hallmark bio, he’s best known among Hallmark fans for his role on “Chesapeake Shores.” He’s also been in Hallmark films like “The Wedding Cottage,” “In Merry Measure,” “The Charm Bracelet,” and the “Vineyard” series of films. His other TV credits include “BH90210,” “Motive,” “The L Word,” “Kyle XY,” “Smallville,” and more.
