Kimberly Williams-Paisley is following in her sister Ashley Williams‘ footsteps. Both sisters are going to be hosting dating reality series in the coming year. And they have some striking similarities. While Williams’ show focuses on small-town love, Williams-Paisley’s series focuses on helping farmers find lasting love by bringing matches from big cities to them. In short, both series involve helping people from the big city potentially find love in a smaller town.
And both sisters are saying their new shows give them a unique opportunity to be their real selves.
In an Instagram post about the series, Williams said she’s always secretly wanted to be a TV show host.
“My entire life all I’ve wanted to do was be able to bring who I am, my own authentic self, to the screen,” Williams wrote on Instagram. “I’ve spent years infusing myself into my characters… Deep down I had a secret: I wanted to be a host… I could not be more excited about helping people find each other and fall in love.”
And Williams-Paisley had a similar sentiment about her own series. She told Country Living: “I enjoyed being myself in this show, which was a new experience for me with my first unscripted series.”
Kimberly Williams-Paisley Is Hosting ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’
Williams-Paisley is stepping in as the new host for season 3 of “Farmer Wants a Wife,” Country Living reported. The new season will premiere on Fox on March 20. She’s replacing former host, Jennifer Nettles.
Williams-Paisley told Country Living: “Because I’m a city girl who embraced the country life when I married my husband 21 years ago, I related to the allure of a farmer for these ladies. I really appreciate how dedicated this show and its producers are in helping these hopeful farmers and women find love.”
The dating show has a good track record. Two out of three of the farmers who found love in season 2 are still in their relationships, Country Living reported.
In a comment replying to a post about her new hosting opportunity, husband Brad Paisley joked, “She obviously wants women to suffer the way she has.”
She jokingly replied, “yes, that’s the only explanation. 😂”
For season 3, single women will leave their city lives for the challenge (and beauty) of country living. The premise is not unlike many Hallmark movies, where a city girl returns to her small, country town and falls in love.
Ashley Williams Is Also Hosting a Dating Reality Show
Wiliams-Paisley’s sister, Ashley Wiliams, is also hosting a reality show. Williams’ series premieres on January 2 on Hallmark+, Hallmark’s new streaming service.
The series, called “Small Town Set Up,” follows small-town parents as they seek to set up their adult children from big cities with matches from their hometowns. The parents choose three potential matches, all picked by their hometown’s neighbors, family and friends. The adult children go on three dates to see if there’s a spark before they return to the big city, People reported.
Williams’ series is a U.S. version of Keshet Broadcasting’s Emmy-nominated Israeli series, “Dear Neighbors,” C21Media reported.
The original series aired more than 10 years ago.
Rebecca Mayer, Keshet Studios’ EVP of Unscripted, said about the new series in a statement: “It is exciting to produce an aspirational series like Small Town Setup and it is an honor to be a part of Hallmark’s first Unscripted slate. Small Town Setup has all the elements that truly make it a Hallmark movie come to life – from heartwarming stories to genuine laughter, to the importance of love, family, and community.”
The first season will have six 60-minute episodes on the streaming service, C21Media reported.
