Jodie Sweetin Makes Rare Comment About Ashley Olsen

Hallmark star Jodie Sweetin recently referenced one of her “Full House” co-stars who has generally stayed out of the public eye in recent years.

During the initial run of the series, twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen played the character of Michelle on “Full House.” Later, when a reboot titled “Fuller House” was developed, neither of the Olsens participated. The rest of the core cast, including Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, and Bob Saget, did return. Viewers also got to see John Stamos and Dave Coulier pop up occasionally, as well.

The Olsens may have stepped away from show business, but it seems they’re still embraced as a part of the “Full House” family. On June 7, People shared tidbits from a chat with Sweetin.

Sweetin admitted it feels odd to see those she knew as kids now having kids of their own. She shared, “I think it’s how the adults [on the ‘Full House’ set] felt for us. When we came around with our kids, they were just like, ‘This is so weird. You’re old enough to have a child, what?'”

She has two daughters, Zoie, 17, and Beatrix, 14.

“I ask myself that every day,” Sweetin also told People, signaling she felt the same way now that co-stars such as Ashley Olsen have kids now, too. As People noted, Olsen has one child, a son, with her husband, Louis Eisner. Her son, Otto, was born in 2023.

The ‘Full House’ Stars Celebrate Each Other After All These Years

When Otto was born, Sweetin and other “Full House” co-stars publicly congratulated Olsen.

During an August 2023 episode of her podcast with co-star Andrea Barber, “How Rude, Tanneritos!,” Barber and Sweetin talked about the big news.

Barber shared, “Did you hear the news? I just heard this morning, that Ashley Olsen had a baby! That blows my mind.”

Sweetin replied, “I did! The baby had a baby! I’m sorry, I know she’s not a baby. She’s a 37-year-old woman, I realize that. But it’s like when the youngest member of your family has a kid. It’s like, ‘Ah, it’s happening!'”

Barber noted, “The ‘Full House’ family is so happy for them,” and Sweetin sent her congratulations to Olsen and her husband. “I’m really, really happy on the birth of their baby boy Otto. I can’t wait to — I’m sure they’ll keep it private for sure, as they do, but I want to wish them well and congratulations! Welcome to motherhood!”
