Hallmark, Soap and former DWTS star Jack Wagner recently reflected on sharing the last scene of “Melrose Place” with Heather Locklear. “It’s one of the highlights in my career for sure, to be gifted the final scene of a series like that with the star, with Heather,” the actor told Entertainment Weekly.
The scene Wagner described included his character, Peter Burns, and Locklear’s character, Amanda Woodward, faking their own deaths, fleeing to a private island and living happily ever after. “…the final episode is this shot of us walking off arm in arm on the beach — it was like, ‘Okay, that’s a great ending. I’ll take it,'” Wagner said.
Jack Wagner’s Impressive Career

For Wagner to call that “Melrose Place” scene a career highlight is a pretty big deal. The actor rose to fame playing Frisco Jones on the daytime soap “General Hospital” from 1984 until 2013 and continued his soap stardom as Nick Marone on “The Bold and the Beautiful” from 2003 until 2022, reprising the role in 2025.
Aside from his Emmy-nominated soap performances, Wagner also stars as Bill Avery in Hallmark’s “When the Heart Calls” and was a contestant on season 14 of “Dancing With the Stars.” According to Wagner, “Melrose Place” served as an instrumental shift in his career. “…to have that kind of cutting-edge, iconic show…it was a big show for me to move from daytime to nighttime…”
Jack Wagner and Heather Locklear’s Off-Screen Relationship

Wagner and Locklear’s real-life relationship was not quite as dramatic as Peter and Amanda’s, but they were romantically involved. The pair first began dating in 2007 and became engaged in 2011, then called it off just three months later due to the stress of planning the wedding.
Despite never making it to the altar, Wagner told TMZ at the time that he and Locklear “still love each other very much.” The actor recently opened up about his current relationship with Locklear, explaining to Us Weekly that they reach out to each other from time to time. “We stay friendly,” he said.
In June of 2025, Wagner married musician Michelle Wolf in a private ceremony surrounded by friends and family. And clearly, he and Locklear are still close after all these years, as she reached out to her old flame soon after his nuptials. “Heather texted me this morning, congratulating me about being married,” Wagner told Entertainment Weekly. “So we have stayed friendly that way. We really did it, huh?”
