Jack Wagner and his wife Michelle Wolf announced their wedding news on May 31 with an Instagram post. Before this, fans had no clue that the couple, who have been dating since January 2021, had gotten married. And their wedding actually happened weeks before the announcement. So, why did the “When Calls the Heart” star and his musician bride decide to keep the news a secret?
Jack Wagner Discusses Why His Wedding Was a Private Occasion
Wagner has been opening up about the details of their small and special wedding ceremony after the news was made public. In an interview with Swoon on June 13, he shared where it was held and why he chose not to say anything before the big day happened. “We did it at the Bel-Air Country Club and kept it to about 40 people,” Wagner told Swoon. “That’s how I wanted to roll. I’m a super private person. I want it to be private amongst people that I love and care about, people from her world and from my world, and just to let that blend.”
The people who were in attendance played an important role in the couple’s life, and in addition to family (Wagner’s son Peter and Wolf’s daughter, Ornella, were there to celebrate and support their parents’ nuptials), a few famous faces were also in attendance.
Wagner told the publication that he had several people speak at the reception, including his co-star, Lori Loughlin. She delivered a touching speech that also honored the actor’s late son, Harrison, who passed away in 2022. Other people who gave speeches included Al Michaels, tennis player Mardy Fish, John Watkins, and the guitarist in Michelle’s R&B rock band.
Jack Wagner Calls His Wedding Day a ‘Once-In-A-Lifetime’ Thing
Wagner also discussed how his May 18 wedding had been a beautiful celebration that allowed him to show off his dance moves. “Michelle got a DJ, and once a woman says, ‘Let’s dance,’ I mean, forget about it, it’s over,” Wagner said. He called the day a “big party” and revealed that the wedding guests were in no hurry to leave.
He continued, “It was a day that doesn’t happen much for me. One of those once-in-a-lifetime things. I’m not out dancing and being crazy at my age very often. Like, never. And it was an opportunity for everyone to get their jig step going and have a lot of laughs.”
Congratulations to the happy couple!
