Hunter King Postpones Wedding: ‘Feel Like I Can Breathe Again’

Although Hallmark star Hunter King is head over heels in love with her fiancé, filmmaker Chris Copier, her busy career and family commitments kept getting in the way of planning their 2025 wedding. King, 31, told fans in a March Instagram Story that she had only four months left to plan her wedding “out of the country.” But she’s since had a change of heart about the timing of her nuptials.

King revealed on the Hearts of Stars podcast — released on April 17, 2025 — that she and Copier have decided to postpone their wedding to 2026, telling host Jennifer Silliman that pushing back the date as they juggle different projects has been a huge relief.

Hunter King Says Wedding Planning is Fun But Also ‘Stressful’

“I know I had put on Instagram that we were getting married in 4 months,” King acknowledged on “Hearts of Stars.” “And oh my gosh, the planning was just crazy. It was getting overwhelming. Then we ran into a few snags with just, like, family events going on, and then things with our venue. And so, we actually decided to push our wedding now to 2026.”

King, who starred with Tyler Hynes in Hallmark’s massive 2024 hit, “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” also revealed in February that she landed a recurring role on a spinoff pilot for CBS’ hit show “The Neighborhood.” Not knowing whether the series will get picked up contributed to her decision to postpone the wedding.

“We gave ourselves a little more time,” King continued. “We were also trying to work with (what) the schedule is if the pilot gets picked up, and what that small window would be when you’re not filming. So we’re trying to finagle that and also my fiance’s schedule, so we decided to push it to 2026 — early in 2026.”

“I feel like I can breathe again,” King admitted. “Wedding planning is fun, but it’s also a little bit stressful!”

Engaged since October 2024, King has periodically shared her wedding progress in her Instagram Stories, including shopping for wedding dresses at Sarah Seven in February. When it all got too overwhelming, she tried to solicit help from fans on social media, requesting their best tips and tricks. But in the end, it was too much to juggle so quickly.

“It’s going to be so much fun, but it makes it a little bit more enjoyable to take our time,” she said.

Hunter King Has Traveled Overseas for Both of Her Sisters’ Weddings

Planning a wedding outside the U.S complicates matters a little, but King said on “Hearts of Stars” that destination weddings have become a bit of a tradition among her sisters, actress Joey King and their elder sister, Kelli King.

Hunter said, “They’re so excited, they’re like, ‘Uh count us in and we get to go out of country for a wedding?!’ Which I did for both my sister’s weddings, so now it’s like tradition.”

Hunter was a bridesmaid in Joey’s September 2023 wedding to Steven Piet, per People, held inside a fortress dating back to 1628, located on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Meanwhile, their older sister Kelli got married in November 2022, though it’s not clear where.

Of her sisters, Hunter said, “They both got legally married at the same place so we’ll get legally married at the same place. So yeah, it’s fun to keep that going.”
