Hallmark Stars Reunite in New Series

Hallmark star Holly Robinson Peete is reuniting with co-star and Hallmark producer Al Roker for a new series, Peete shared on social media. The two last appeared on Hallmark together for “Morning Show Mysteries,” but Roker was also the executive producer for one of Peete’s more recent Hallmark Christmas films.

Peete wrote on Instagram: “So thrilled to be part of this project and to work with my buddy @alroker again! My character ‘Dot Hunter’ is the bold, fearless and fun weather wife and mom to Al Hunter and the Hunter kids!! Really looking forward to this exciting, sweet and informative series to air in July on @pbskids 🌡️☀️🌤️⛅️🌦️🌧️⛈️❄️☔️”

In a Facebook post, she added: “So excited about this! This is my 1000th time working with my buddy Al Roker and it’s always a blast!! This is such a cute project and I’ve been having the best time. My character -Dot Hunter -is a super cool, funny, smart and adventurous weather mommy and wife! I can’t wait until it premieres this summer!”

The animated series is called “Weather Hunters” and will air on PBS Kids, Variety reported. Peete is part of a talented vocal cast that also includes Roker, Sheryl Lee Ralph, LeVar Burton, Tandi Fomukong, Kapri Ladd, and Lorenzo Ross. Yvette Nicole Brown will sing the show’s theme song. Al Roker Entertainment and Silver Creek Falls Entertainment are producing the series.

The series, which encourages children to learn about meteorology and Earth science, premieres on July 7 and will air in both English and Spanish. Variety reported that the series “follows an 8-year-old weather detective whose father is the fun-loving weathercaster of a long-running national TV program.”

Roker wrote on Facebook about the series: “It’s fun, educational, and all about a topic that’s been close to my heart my entire career: WEATHER. Bring the kids to watch—they’ll have a blast while learning about the fascinating world of natural weather phenomena.”

Ashley Gudewitt wrote, in response to Peete’s Instagram post: “Love working with you on this one.” Many of Peete’s followers also joined in to express their excitement about the series.


Peete & Roker Were in ‘Morning Show Mysteries’ Together

Peete and Roker’s long history of working together includes projects for the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery. Roker starred in ‘Morning Show Mysteries” alongside Peete, portraying himself. The series was based on Roker’s Billy Blessing novels.

He was also the executive producer of the movies and was the executive producer for Peete’s 2020 Hallmark movie, “The Christmas Doctor.”
