The Hallmark Channel’s newest movie, “Hearts Around the Table: Jenna’s First Love,” premieres on Saturday, March 22 , at 8 p.m. Eastern/ 7 p.m. Central. The movie stars Ashley Newbrough and Steve Lund. Read on to learn all about where it was filmed and see behind-the-scenes stories from the cast.
‘Hearts Around the Table’ Was Filmed in Ontario, Canada
“Hearts Around the Table: Jenna’s First Love” was filmed in the town of Newmarket in Ontario, Canada in the fall of 2024. Another cast post made during filming tags Georgian Bay, Ontario.
The set of movies was originally called “The Hearts of Robin Lane,” but the name was changed to “Hearts Around the Table.” Orillia Matters reported that some scenes for the “Shari’s Story” film in the series (now called “Shari’s Second Act”) were filmed near Dorian Parker Centre.
Mindy Cohn, who stars in the movie, posted a picture on Instagram from Newmarket, sharing how the cast helped her through a difficult time. She wrote: “Oh Canada. thank you for holding me while i grieve my beloved daddio and providing me with a cast, crew and production company that were sublime. ‘til soon. ❌⭕️”
She also posted a sweet tribute to her father.
Kathryn Davis took to Instagram to talk about the movie, writing: “I had the time of my life sharing the screen with such beautiful humans, led by the incredible @mindycohn.”
Cohn wrote on Instagram: “It’s been a ridiculously grand time gang. thank you & more and again.”
She shared another photo in late September and said it was her last day on set.
Meet the Cast
Hallmark’s synopsis reads: “Jenna plans a charity event for Billionaire Tom Redlands. But working with Tom’s right hand Andrew is proving difficult, especially since Jenna and Andrew have a romantic history.”
Ashley Newbrough is Jenna. According to her bio, she’s perhaps best known for her role on “The Privileged” as Sage Baker. She also has credits in “Rent A Goalie,” “1-800 Missing,” “Degrassi the Next Generation,” “Mistresses,” and Hallmark movies like “Love Under the Stars,” “Small Town Christmas,” and “Glacier Park: A National Romance.”
Steve Lund is Andrew. According to his bio, he’s known for roles on productions like “Blue Mountain State,” “Haven,” “Bitten,” “Reign,” “Street Legal,” “Schitt’s Creek,” and more. Some of his Hallmark movies include “Christmas Bedtime Story,” “The Christmas Cottage,” “Baby, It’s Cold Inside,” “Unlocking Christmas,” and more.
Mindy Cohn is Angie. According to her bio, she’s best known for her role as Natalie Green in the ’80s hit “The Facts of Life.” She also made guest appearances on “Diff’rent Strokes,” “21 Jump Street,” and “Charles in Charge.” She voiced Velma in the “Scooby Doo” franchise for more than 10 years, and currently plays Ann Holiday in “Palm Royale.”
