Hallmark Actor Welcomes Baby Less Than 2 Weeks After Wedding

Life has changed drastically for popular podcaster, best-selling author, and Hallmark newcomer Danny Pellegrino over the last two weeks.

On June 8, 2025, Pellegrino — who co-starred with Wes Brown in 2024’s “Deck the Walls” — revealed the exciting news that he’d just become a first-time dad alongside his husband, whom he married less than two weeks prior.

Captioning a sweet photo of him holding his newborn son, Pellegrino wrote, “Meet Luciano Christopher Pellegrino! We’re calling him Lucky! 🍀 Doctors and nurses say he’s very lucky after a bit of a dramatic entrance into the world on Friday evening, so his nickname is sticking.”

Pellegrino assured fans and friends that baby Lucky was fine after his “dramatic entrance,” sharing, ” He’s doing great now and it looks like we’ll get to bring him home today! 9 lbs. 6 ounces!!!!!!!! Lucky’s the best big little boy ever and Matt and I are already so obsessed with him. Our angel surrogate is doing well too and words will never be enough for how incredible she’s been! What a weekend!!!!!!!”

Among the famous friends who liked Pellegrino’s update were Hallmark stars including Rachael Leigh Cook, Brant Daugherty, and his “Deck the Walls” co-star Wes Brown. Many Bravo TV personalities also liked and commented on the post, since Pellegrino frequently dishes on his “Everything Iconic” podcast about his favorite “Real Housewives” stars other Bravo series.

Former “Today Show” anchor Katie Couric chimed in, too, writing, “Congratulations!!!!!! So exciting. And LOVE the nickname. 🍀”

Actress Mandy Moore also commented, “Congrats x a million and welcome to the party, Lucky!!”

Late on June 8, Pellegrino provided a hilarious update for fans on Threads, writing, “1st day at home post hospital with newborn and I’ve said ‘was that gas or poop’ at least 75 times today.”

Days before Lucky’s birth, on June 2, Pellegrino gave fans a peek inside the baby’s nursery, outfitted with help from Babylist, with its walls and the ceiling painted a deep green. A dark wooden crib matched a hanging children’s bookcase, accented by peach-colored curtains, whimsical artwork and a white changing table.

Pellegrino has not publicly identified his partner of over 15 years, Matt, but the two announced on May 28 that they’d married in a Los Angeles chapel on a whim.

Captioning a series of photos from their nuptials, Pellegrino wrote on Instagram, “Life Update: After 15+(!!) years together and a baby on the way, Matt and I finally decided to tie the knot (I wanted to be sure)!”

“We eloped at a place called Same Day Marriage,” he continued, “and it was lovely and they had various cheesy theme rooms with word art and the website was on the sign and it was perfect and very us. x ❤️💍”

Although Pellegrino will have his hands full getting to know and care for little Lucky in the days ahead, he’d love to do more acting. In May, he shared a clip from “Deck the Walls” on Instagram to celebrate its re-airing and hilariously wrote, “I know the hollywood industry is crumbling but I’m available to act and have a child on the way I need to pay for, so please hire me. xo”
