Cameron Mathison Grateful As He Pieces ‘My New Life Together’

Former Hallmark star and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Cameron Mathison had positive updates to share in his latest Instagram post. Less than two months ago, Mathison’s family lost their home in the Pacific Palisades, California wildfire. Now, he is on his way to rebuilding his life.

On January 8, the “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” alum revealed via Instagram the wildfire had completely destroyed his house. Since then, he has shared frequent updates.

Mathison returned to his Instagram page on February 18 to share a few updates and lots of gratitude.

The caption read, “Thank you to everyone who has supported me during this challenging time, I appreciate all of you deeply and will never forget how you all helped me start to piece my new life together,” Mathison wrote.

Cameron Mathison Is Living in a Rental He Can Call Home for Now

Mathison began his update by sharing, “I’ve received so much unbelievable support and a lot of questions as to how I’m doing and if I have a place to stay now.”

He acknowledged that the first three weeks after the fire were “a little tricky, I’m not going to lie to you.”

For now, Mathison revealed he is renting a place in the Silver Lake area of California. As he talked, he panned the camera around to show everybody some glimpses of the place.

He noted it had multiple levels, which he liked, and he’s got a cold plunge unit in place. Mathison’s fans who follow him on Instagram know he has a lot of love for the cold plunge.

Mathison then highlighted a Buddha figure he was able to save from the old house. Then, he credited his “beautiful friend” and former “All My Children” co-star Eva LaRue for the couch in his new place.

Since the fire, Mathison noted, he’s had friends offer a place to stay and others have given him home essentials like clothing, sheets, towels, and dishes.

Fans, friends, and colleagues have showered the actor with “kindness and generosity,” he shared. He said, “I just wanted to say thanks to everybody… I just love you guys.”

The Hallmark Alum Admitted the Loss Has Been Tough on Him & His Family

On February 11, Mathison talked with TV Insider about his determination to find ways to be positive and grateful amid this heavy loss. In his new Instagram video, he admitted that navigating the loss and its aftermath has been “a lot.”

“It’s been logistically and emotionally a lot for myself and my kids and family,” Mathison acknowledged.

He added they have been “day by day chipping away, making progress and I’m so grateful to have a place to stay. It makes it a lot easier and also the support from all of you.”

Mathison closed out his video by reiterating, “I really do love you guys.”

The comment section of the post was flooded with heart emojis from colleagues and fans alike. Tyler Hynes, Danica McKellar, Kelly Thiebaud, and Finola Hughes were among those colleagues who signaled their love and support for Mathison.

One person commented, “So happy to see you coming out the other side with a smile.”

“You always give such positive thoughts. Good things are coming your way,” added someone else.
