On World Cancer Day 2025 — commemorated annually on February 4 — Hallmark star Brennan Elliott’s wife Camilla Row is hopeful that a new trial treatment will prove successful in her ongoing battle with stage 4 gastric cancer.
After an early-stage diagnosis in 2018 and successful treatment, Row’s cancer returned in 2022 as stage 4, a diagnosis that some patients only survive “a few weeks,” she told the nonprofit Hope For Stomach Cancer in November 2023.
But Row has been determined to beat the odds all along, even after a recent string of “scary moments,” she shared on her private Instagram account on January 30, as she received her first infusion of a new cancer drug.
Brennan Elliott’s Wife Camilla Row Hopes New Drug is Her ‘Miracle Treatment’
Two weeks before her latest updated, on January 11, Row posted a photo of her and Elliott’s children — Liam, 12, and Luna, 10 — and provided a brief health update, writing, “A series of surgeries and hospitalizations have left me weak and out of treatment but I am thankful everyday of each second of life. I am healing thanks to God. I am so blessed to have all your prayers.”
By January 29, Row had a new reason to be hopeful and posted a 2021 photo of herself with Elliott, writing, “Happy Days and more to come.” The following day, she posted from her hospital bed as she received her first infusion of a new trial drug.
She wrote, “After nearly 2 months off treatment, multiple trips to the ER and hospitalizations (surgeries), I am finally back to kicking this cancer’s butt!”
Row continued, “Recently learned that I express Claudin 18.2 at 90%. Claudin is a biomarker for gastric cancer so this is considered targeted treatment. There were a few scary moments but I am ready to get back to my normal, my new normal.”
“I am hoping and praying this is my ‘Hail Mary’ miracle treatment,” Row added. “I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to even participate in a trial, thankful to God as he paves the way for me, grateful for all of your support and prayers. ❤️ you all!”
Brennan Elliott Has Been by Camilla Row’s Side Throughout Cancer Journey, Calling Her His ‘Warrior Queen’
Row has undergone a variety of traditional and cutting-edge interventions including innovative surgeries at City of Hope in Los Angeles. She was thrilled to spend 2023 free of any evidence of cancer. But in March 2024, Row revealed on her private Instagram account that during a quarterly laparoscopic check of her peritoneum, doctors found evidence of new cancer.
Row began chemotherapy infusions in April, she shared in Instagram updates, followed by a mass excision surgery in early June. The second half of 2024 was particularly trying; after she experienced difficulty eating, doctors found a benign structure in her small intestines, she told her followers, which required an emergency stent placement. She began receiving IV nutrition at that time, while also learning that her bloodwork showed the “cancer in my body has increased.”
At her oncologist’s urging, Row started a new chemo regimen on July 30, and within weeks, her hair was “coming out by the handfuls,” she wrote on Instagram. In October, she shared that she needed a blood transfusion and Elliott cheered her on in the comment section of her post, writing, “My warrior queen!! Strongest human being I know!!!! 🙏”
Elliott has been a huge support system for Row along the way, only occasionally leaving her side for Hallmark projects, like filming September’s “His and Hers” with Lacey Chabert and attending one of the Hallmark Christmas Experience weekends in Kansas City in December.
In a post celebrating their 13th wedding anniversary in September, Row wrote on Instagram to her husband, “We have had amazing years & impossibly hard years but there is no one I would rather have by my side than you. You make me feel so adored and safe, I am truly so grateful. Thank you for loving me all these years and I pray we have many many more years to continue on this adventure.”
