Batter up! To launch its annual Christmas in July programming slate, Hallmark Channel will expand its professional sports partnerships by teaming up with the Boston Red Sox. The news comes days before the network continues its NFL partnership with a Buffalo Bills-themed movie, scheduled to start filming on May 19, 2025.
The Red Sox announced on May 15 that the cable network will kick off its month of back-to-back summer Christmas movies with a holiday-themed night at the team’s July 1 home game against the Cincinnati Reds. The team’s website invites Hallmarkies to “jingle all the way to Fa-la-la-Fenway for a day of major league merriment.”
Unnamed Hallmark Channel Star to Throw Out 1st Pitch at Red Sox Game

In the announcement, the Red Sox promised Hallmarkies they’ll get to watch “one of your favorite Hallmark stars throw the first pitch and sing the national anthem.” Fans are encouraged to dress up “like a happy holiday Hallmark movie,” and take photos in a “winter wonderland” area set up at the stadium.
Fans who purchase tickets to the game here, ranging in cost from $38 to $127, will receive an “exclusive, holiday-themed Red Sox and Hallmark Channel hat.” A limited VIP package is also available, which comes with the hat and a “festive replica jersey.” The cost for the VIP packages ranges from $67 to $152, but the team said the packages are “as rare as snow in July.”
It’s not clear why the Red Sox were chosen for the Christmas in July promotion, but multiple Hallmark movies have been filmed in Boston in recent years, including 2024’s “A Very Vermont Christmas,” per Boston.com.
What to Expect for Christmas in July 2025

As of mid-May, Hallmark had not yet released its schedule for 2025’s Christmas in July; the full schedule is usually released in early June. Typically, the network premieres at least one new holiday-themed movie each weekend of the month and packs its schedule with many of its most popular holiday movies.
In 2024, the original premieres during Christmas in July included two Marcus Rosner movies — “Falling Like Snowflakes” and “An Ice Palace Romance” — as well as Rachael Leigh Cook and Sam Page’s “Rescuing Christmas” and Ryan McPartlin and Katie LeClerc’s “A Very Vermont Christmas.”
Hallmark Channel also aired an extended cut of the 2023 hit “Three Wise Men and a Baby” in July and premiered “Operation Nutcracker” on its streamer, Hallmark+.
It’s possible that for 2025, Hallmark will leverage Christmas in July to air some of its first-ever holiday series that exclusively streamed on Hallmark+ during the 2024 holidays, including the first seasons of the reality competition “Finding Mr. Christmas” and the Christmas whodunit series “Mistletoe Murders.” Both series have been filming second seasons that will premiere on Hallmark Channel later this year.
The limited-run series “Holidazed,” which also streamed exclusively on Hallmark+, could also make its cable debut during Christmas in July.
