Hallmark Pals Celebrate B.J. Britt’s New Christmas Movie

Many Hallmarkies hope to see more of B.J. Britt in Hallmark’s movie lineup after he co-starred in 2024’s “The Groomsmen” trilogy alongside two of the network’s biggest stars, Tyler Hynes and Jonathan Bennett. The trio of buddies have made many fun appearances together, from Hallmark events to the 2025 GLAAD Awards, and now Hynes and Bennett are celebrating Britt’s latest role.

The actor, 43, just wrapped filming a new Christmas movie — but it’s not a Hallmark production. On April 28, 2025, Britt posted a screenshot of a Deadline article about the cast of “#WorstChristmasEver,” with him as the lead. In the caption of his post, he wrote, “This is gonna be a fun one!🥳🎬✨”

Hallmark Friends Celebrate B.J. Britt’s New Role: ‘Christmas Came Early’

Britt has been in Hollywood filming “#WorstChristmasEver” with a cast that includes comedian Bill Bellemy and Taja V. Simpson, who stars in “Tyler Perry’s The Oval” on BET. According to Deadline, the independent movie is written and produced by Maurice Hall and Tony L. Patterson.

The movie’s synopsis says Britt will star as “recently divorced workaholic Billy Turner as he’s persuaded to fly across the country to celebrate Christmas with his children, his ex-wife, Alicia….and her new fiancé.” Billy’s longtime friends, played by Bellamy and Tamala Jones, “try to talk him off a ledge in his dread of this years’ holiday.” While trying to “drink away his sorrows,” the synopsis continues, “he literally stumbles upon high powered lawyer, Harmony Davis,” with whom an “unlikely romance” develops.

Multiple Hallmark friends celebrated Britt’s new movie including Hynes, who wrote in the comments, “Christmas came early 🎄” and Bennett, who sweetly wrote, “My boy”

Other Hallmark stars who liked Britt’s post included his “Groomsmen” love interest, Heather Hemmens, along with Andrew Walker, Rachel Boston, and Rachelle Lefevre.

Filmmaker Says B.J. Britt & Castmates Have Excellent ‘Chemistry’

This won’t be Britt’s first Christmas movie. He starred in Hallmark’s “The Holiday Stocking” in 2022, alongside another #WorstChristmasEver castmate, Tamala Jones. He also co-starred in OWN’s “Christmas Serenade” in 2023, per IMDb.

Britt seems to have established a great rapport with his new Christmas movie castmates, according to a post from Hall, who chronicled the shoot on Instagram with behind-the-scenes pics and stories during filming.

“If there is one thing more mysterious than the plot of a holiday film,” he wrote on April 18, “it is this: how complete strangers can meet for the first time on a Monday and look like family by Friday. Some call it chemistry. Others call it luck. But here, on the set of Worst Christmas Ever, it feels more like fate.”

He continued, “They joke. They hug. They finish each other’s thoughts. And when the camera rolls, they don’t perform—they belong. As if this family they’re portraying is real. As if Christmas is just around the corner and they’ve been doing this for years. It’s cinematic magic at its finest.”

Details on when or where #WorstChristmasEver will air haven’t been released yet. In a completely different type of role, Britt also starred in the 2025 crime drama “A Deadly Ride,” released via Amazon and Fandango in February.
