Best Paul Campbell Movies: Our Top 5

Hallmark viewers love Paul Campbell. Not only is he very funny, but his romantic lead roles are always authentic and heartfelt. He has a wide range that brings levity and depth to his roles. So picking our top 5 favorite movies isn’t an easy task.

Here’s a look at our picks for Paul Campbell’s Top 5 Hallmark movies. (Note: Because we already feature “Three Wise Men & a Baby” in our Tyler Hynes top 5, we are not including that franchise in this roundup.)

1. ‘A Godwink Christmas’

Campbell and Kimberley Sustad launched the “Godwink” movie franchise with the movie “A Godwink Christmas.”

Hallmark’s synopsis reads: “A newly engaged woman visits her aunt in New England before Christmas to clear her head after reluctantly accepting her boyfriend’s proposal. While there, she meets a local and they begin to fall for each other. Her aunt believes it’s God’s way of winking at her and devises a plan to bring them together. Inspired by a true story.”

The movie is based on the true story of Paula and Gery Conover. The movie was pitched to Hallmark by SQuiore and Louise Rushnell, the authors of the Godwink books.

2. ‘Falling Together’

Falling Together” with Ashley Williams is a heartfelt movie that digs deep into how tough it can be to establish yourself in a new town. The movie is also a love note to anyone affected by Alzheimer’s, and has some moments that will truly make you cry. Campbell and Williams shine in this film.

The synopsis reads: “Natalie tries to bring feuding neighbors together in her new condo building. Her unexpected ally is the building’s super who prefers to avoid getting involved.”

3. ‘Window Wonderland’

This is an older movie, but still a favorite among Hallmark viewers. Campbell starred opposite Chyler Leigh, who is now a lead on Hallmark’s hit series, “The Way Home.”

In a public Facebook group for Hallmark fans, one viewer wrote: “I’ve always liked this movie from the first time I saw it when it came out. Paul and Chyler interact with each other very well.”

In another post, a viewer wrote: “Paul was hysterical in this and the banter between the stars was very entertaining.”

In another post, a viewer wrote: “[This] is the best Hallmark Christmas RomCom that I have seen… It is the most delightful movie with romance, humor and a significant message. The performances of all the artistes are outstanding, especially those of Campbell and Leigh. Paul Campbell showcases his multi faceted acting talents, wit and emotion brilliantly. I loved this old movie.”

4. ‘The Cases of Mystery Lane’

The Cases of Mystery Lane” is the first film in the mystery franchise starring Campbell and Aimee Garcia. The brilliantly written script portrays a husband still trying to find his place in life, and his lawyer wife who supports him but has stresses of her own to face. The tension in their life puts their marriage on the line. But when they both start working together as amateur sleuths in a murder investigation, they find themselves coming back together, closer than ever before.

The movie does a great job of portraying troubles that real marriages can go through. Garcia and Campbell also have great chemistry, and there are a lot of comedic moments that hit perfectly.

5. ‘Dating the Delaneys’

Campbell stars opposite Rachel Boston in this cute movie with a unique twist. The synopsis for “Dating the Delaneys” reads: “Three generations of Delaney women explore the highs and lows of modern-day dating, learning that love and romance can be found at any age…and sometimes where you least expect it.”

In one public Facebook group for Hallmark fans, a viewer wrote: “I loved it, such a nice story, and so true to life. The blind date, the dating site jerk, the teenage daughter and her crush. And then the wonderful guy there all the while. Rachel Boston and Paul Campbell were terrific.”

In a different discussion, another viewer wrote: “I am struck at how natural that Paul Campbell & Rachel Boston are in this movie. Don’t get me wrong, I love Paul & Kimberly Sustad together, but something about Rachel & Paul in this movie just makes me happy. I could do with a Paul Campbell movie marathon very soon!”

BONUS: ‘The Santa Class’

Although Campbell wasn’t the lead in this one, we had to include “The Santa Class” as a bonus top movie. Campbell played an outlandish and hilarious version of himself, taking Santa classes to try to prepare for a movie roll. Sustad and Benjamin Ayres played the lead roles.

In a public Facebook group for Hallmark fans, a commenter wrote: “Paul Campbell stole this one!”

In another post in the same group, a viewer wrote: “Paul Campbell as Paul Campbell. Genius casting!”
