Ashley Williams’ Husband Plans Ultimate Surprise to Lift Her Spirits

Ashley Williams‘ husband surprised her with a much-needed gift after she and her loved ones went through “hell” over the last few weeks, Williams shared on social media. Her husband, Neal Dodson, bought her tickets to an Ani DiFranco concert. The event, Williams said, let her “revisit myself in my 20s.”

“If you know me and my loved ones now, you know that the last few weeks of our lives has been hell on our hearts,” Williams shared on Instagram. “My thoughtful husband surprised me last night with something I did not know I needed: I got to revisit myself in my 20s. Good news: She’s still there. Full of hope, strength, and most importantly curiosity. Giggles were in there somewhere too— we’re working on it.”

Ashley Williams Said She Was ‘So Hardcore’ When She Was Younger That She Even ‘Hid in the Bushes’ to See DiFranco After Her Concerts

In her Instagram post, Williams talked about how “obsessed” she was with Ani DiFranco in the 90s.

“One of my big final presentations in college was to act out the entire ‘life cycle’ of Ani DiFranco, including acting out her birth as a baby— crying and all. 😂😂” she wrote. “I WAS SO HARDCORE. It still makes me laugh when I think about it in hindsight.”

She said she would show up six hours early for DiFranco’s concerts so she could see DiFranco “meditating in a meadow nearby” and “then hid in the bushes next to her tour bus to catch a glimpse of her at the end of the night.”

But she didn’t just like DiFranco because of her music. She was inspired by the artist.

“She taught me how to talk to people who condescend to me,” Williams shared. “She taught me to invest in women— That competition would get us nowhere, but coffee, authenticity and giggles would get us everywhere. She was right.”

Williams Recently Shared a Post Celebrating Rain in Los Angeles

Los Angeles residents are still recovering after major wildfires devastated numerous homes and businesses. Three active fires in LA were almost fully contained as of Wednesday afternoon, January 29, Forbes reported. But conditions can change rapidly.

On January 27, Williams posted a video from LA showing herself dancing in a much-needed rainstorm. “Look what I found,” she thankfully wrote.

On January 15, she shared a post about how thankful she was for all the resources and care being given not just to her, but so many people in need.

“Every time I pick up my phone there’s 30 texts from people,” she wrote. “Some are checking on me (yes, we’re still ok, thank you!) but mostly it’s my community rounding up resources like gift cards, sandwiches, clothes, toys and services to those who are scared, tired and in need. Los Angeles, you blow me away every time. I love you. I’m here for you.”
