Love is in the air for beloved small-town baker Hannah Swensen and Detective Chad Norton after the latest installment of Hallmark’s long-running “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” franchise. But SPOILER ALERT! If you have not watched the 12th movie, “Pie To Die For,” which premiered on June 22, 2025, stop reading now if you don’t want to know what happened!
In “Pie To Die For,” fans finally got to see the brewing chemistry between Alison Sweeney and Victor Webster’s characters blossom into a full-fledged (albeit undercover) romance, from a sweet kiss midway through the film to their spicy tango lesson. Social media was buzzing about their pairing throughout the premiere, with one fan declaring them the “perfect couple” and another calling them “magic together.”
The only question now is what happens next for Hannah and Chad? EntertainmentNow checked in with Sweeney and Webster for their take on where they’d love to see the new couple’s storyline go from here.
Alison Sweeney & Victor Webster Are On the Same Page About ‘Hannah Swensen’ Romance

With Hannah and Chad’s romance now off and running, what’s next? Quick courtship and a dazzling proposal? Wedding bells and grandkids for Delores?
Not so fast, the actors say. Although EntertainmentNow asked Sweeney and Webster separately about how they envision the duo’s romance unfolding, they both said they’re enjoying the “slow burn” and think it might be best to let the romance breathe a little.
“I love the slow development of Hannah and Chad’s relationship,” Sweeney said. “It’s been so fun working with Victor on these characters. But I am a romantic at heart, so I’m excited to see their relationship developing. Plus, Hannah is determined to find out Chad’s dessert weakness! She’s not giving up until then.”
Webster was definitely ready for Chad and Hannah’s relationship to progress, but told EntertainmentNow, “I do like that these characters have gotten to know each other, and they’ve really respectfully found a common ground. They have an appreciation for each other, and this has organically unfolded. It hasn’t been forced, and I really like the slow burn.”
“It’s interesting, because I can think of a couple different ways for it to go,” he continued. “But I don’t think either one of them wants to just kind of jump into a relationship right away.”
Victor Webster Says He’s Felt Part of the ‘Hannah Swensen’ Family Since His First Day On Set

With a new romance in play, Hannah’s clearly over her past engagement to Detective Mike Kingston, played by Cameron Mathison, who left Hallmark in late 2023 for a deal with Great American Family.
Many fans were thrilled when Sweeney and her fellow producers brought Webster onto the franchise in early 2024, given that the two already had such great chemistry in Hallmark’s “Wedding Veil” movies.
“Pie To Die For” is already Webster’s fourth “Hannah Swensen” movie and he told EntertainmentNow that he felt part of the family right from the start.
“The very first day felt like I was just stepping into this world,” he smiled. “I didn’t feel at any moment like I wasn’t welcome or they weren’t excited to have me there. So it’s been like a really great dream.”
“Pie To Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery” is available to stream on Hallmark+ and will also make its Hallmark Mystery premiere on June 26 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
