Alison Sweeney’s 3 Hallmark Besties: Who’s On Her List?

Having worked in the entertainment industry since she was a teen, landing her breakthrough role as Sami Brady on “Days of Our Lives” in 1993, longtime Hallmark star Alison Sweeney has a lifetime’s worth of friends in Hollywood.

But who does the actress count among her closest pals in the Hallmark universe? During an interview with The List published on June 30, 2025, the “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” star revealed three of the Hallmark actresses she considers among her besties.

Lacey Chabert: Alison Sweeney’s Co-Star in ‘The Wedding Veil’ Movies

Sweeney told The List that it was too hard to pick just one Hallmark friend she loves the most, explaining, “We all live in different parts of the world, so it’s not always easy to hang out with, but Lacey Chabert and I are good friends, and I love having lunch with her.”

It may come as no surprise to Hallmarkies that Chabert is among Sweeney’s Hallmark BFFs. The actresses co-starred and co-produced six of “The Wedding Veil” movies together in 2022 and 2023, and they’ve talked about wanting to do even more with third co-star Autumn Reeser.

During a joint interview with Chabert in early 2023, Sweeney told Fox13 in Seattle, “Lacey gives the best compliments. You start every day — and with everybody — you have something nice to say.”

She also said that while filming, “On every break, on lunch, or after work, when we were on location, we would just huddle up in, like, the bathrobes from the hotel and sit on a bed and have some wine and eat and talk and, you know, bond. It was so fun.”

Ashley Williams: Alison Sweeney’s Co-Star in 2025’s ‘To Barcelona’ Movies

Again, probably no surprise to Hallmarkies, Sweeney also included Ashley Williams — her co-star in June’s “To Barcelona, With Love” and “To Barcelona, Forever” — among the Hallmark friends she’s most connected to these days.

“Ashley Williams and I just shot together in Barcelona for seven weeks, so we had some good downtime together,” she told The List. “Mostly, it’s just keeping up over the phone and through texts.”

Williams told EntertainmentNow in May that as the two developed and filmed the movies, “Having Ali by my side … was so incredible” and that she treasured the “safe space” they created for each other behind the scenes.

“I’m the loudest person in the room when it comes to producing,” Williams said. “I’m the one calling out, like, ‘Wait, that makes no sense!’ So much of the time, Ali was already halfway through the sentence as I was realizing that there was a problem. Like, she is such a take-charge producer, that it actually made my life so much easier … I think so much of the time we go, ‘Yeah, like, I’m not gonna cause a stir, and you sort of are gaslighting yourself. But then having Ali (agree) was so validating.”

Barbara Niven: Alison Sweeney Texts Her TV Mom Nearly Every Day

Actress Barbara Niven has played Sweeney’s onscreen mom in a dozen “Hannah Sweeney Mysteries” movies, but when the two aren’t filming together in Vancouver, they’re adorably checking in on each other almost daily.

Sweeney told The List, “She and I text each other almost every day and have such a cute, fun friendship.”

During a Facebook Live session featuring Sweeney, Niven, and Victor Webster to promote their latest movie, “Pie To Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery,” Niven said that she and Sweeney are “scarily similar” in so many ways, including that they actually compete to be the first one to arrive places first.
