Hallmark Stars Launch Surprise Podcast Together: ‘So Much Fun’

Longtime Hallmark Channel stars Alison Sweeney and Ashley Williams are quickly becoming the duo we didn’t know we needed in our lives, and their two destination movies haven’t even premiered yet. From dancing in the streets of Spain to gushing about each other, the new besties want all of their fans to join the fun.

The actresses, who will star in Hallmark Channel’s “To Barcelona, With Love” on June 7, 2025, and “To Barcelona, Forever” on June 14, had such a blast filming and growing their friendship during the first half of the year that they decided to launch a podcast about it all. The first two episodes of “Mi Amor” will be released on May 29, according to an Instagram post from Sweeney, via Apple, Spotify, and other major podcasting platforms.

Sweeney, who served as executive producer of both movies, captioned a social media photo with her new ride-or-die, “So, @ashleywilliamsandcompany & I had so much fun filming #ToBarcelona together that we wanted to share the process with all of you. The first two episodes of our podcast about our experience comes out tomorrow!”

Hallmark Channel’s Alison Sweeney & Ashley Williams Promise ‘Unfiltered, Laugh-Out-Loud Conversations’ on New Podcast

Fans were thrilled to see the dynamic duo of Williams and Sweeney are extending their fun together beyond social media posts and their upcoming premieres, including one who wrote in the comment section, “Love this and the two of you chatting so much!”

A description of the podcast says, “Join Alison Sweeney and Ashley Williams for unfiltered, laugh-out-loud conversations as they travel across the world to make two ROMCOM TV movies together. From on-set stories to off-screen antics, these leading ladies spill the behind-the-scenes tea on making movies, friendship and all the fun along the way.”

It’s not clear how many episodes Sweeney and Williams plan to produce or how long each one will be. The duo spent February and March filming in Spain after spending years trying to find the right project to collaborate on.

In late January, just before the duo headed overseas, Williams told EntertainmentNow they’d been “dying to find something for us to work on together” and that developing the two new movies took several years.

The movies were written by Julie Sherman Wolfe, the mastermind behind some of Hallmark’s most elaborate movies, from 2022’s “A Holiday Spectacular” to 2024’s “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.”

Williams told EntertainmentNOW that three years ago, she “pitched this idea to Julie Sherman Wolfe late at night in a bar. Right then Ali walked by and I roped her into playing opposite me in the movie. It’s a dream come true.”

Ashley Williams Says She Can Hardly Believe Alison Sweeney is Her ‘Best Friend’ Now

In an adorable social media post on May 25, Williams shared that she’s still pinching herself over getting to make two movies with Sweeney, whom she adored as a teen when Sweeney’s star was rising as she played Sami Brady on “Days of Our Lives.”

“Imagine being a fan of an actress since you were a teenager,” Williams wrote, “and now you’re a grownup and you make her play your best friend in a movie and take her to Spain with you for months and now you’re real life best friends and this is your life now. You do normal things like text her by accident or take vet recommendations from her. You make fun of her and your life is made every time you make her laugh.”

Captioning a montage of videos from their fun shoot with director Ron Oliver, Williams continued, “This is my life now. This is midlife me and teenage me can’t stop squealing. Set your dvrs to watch it all in real time starting June 7th on Hallmark.”
