‘A ’90s Christmas’ Was Filmed in Canada

“A ’90s Christmas” was filmed in the Toronto region of Canada. The movie is directed by Marni Banack and produced by Vortex Productions, a Canadian company located in Toronto.

Victoria Maria took to Instagram to share: “It’s that time of year again! I got to play a fun little part in A 90s Christmas and was reunited with my fav director Marni Banack. Swipe to the last photo to see what every Christmas movie needs (a grim reaper/witch, duh). Check out this time travelling holiday flick premiering Nov. 29th 6/5c on Hallmark 🎄”

Montina Hussey, a prop assistant for the movie, shared on their website that it was filmed in Toronto.

Drummond shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos from filming and wrote: “What a beautiful experience this was! I LOVED the 90s … so to channel MY mom in the 90s was super awesome cool.”


Meet the Cast

Hallmark’s synopsis reads: “Workaholic lawyer Lucy Miller is celebrating her promotion alone on Christmas Eve when a mysterious rideshare experience transports her back to 1999. Reliving the holiday with her mom, sister and best friend – not to mention her high school crush – Lucy gets a second chance to understand where her relationships went wrong. Will this magical journey help her rewrite her future or leave her destined to be alone?”

Eva Bourne plays Lucy. According to her Hallmark bio, she grew up in the picturesque town of Creston in British Columbia’s East Kootenays. After high school, she initially pursued dental assisting but quickly realized her heart was set on a different path. She moved to Vancouver to study acting and soon landed her first role on “Psych.” From there, her career took off, with TV credits including guest roles on The CW’s “Emily Owens M.D.,” CTV’s “Motive,” and TNT’s “Falling Skies.” Most recently, she appeared in Netflix’s popular series “Devil in Ohio.”

Bourne is well known among Hallmark fans. She charmed audiences as Clara Stanton-Flyn in 60 episodes of “When Calls the Heart” and brought warmth to the role of Hannah Shannon in the “Garage Sale Mysteries” franchise.

Chandler Massey is Matt. According to his bio, he’s the son of Lewis Massey, a former Secretary of State of Georgia, and Amy Massey. In 2009, Chandler moved to Los Angeles. Just a few months later, he auditioned for the role of Will Horton on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” and landed the part. He earned four Daytime Emmy nominations and won three times for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series. In 2013, he stepped away from the show to continue his studies at UCLA.

In 2017, Chandler returned to “Days of Our Lives” to reprise his role as Will Horton, earning two more Emmy nominations. He also appeared in the Peacock spin-offs “Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem” and “Days of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas.” Hallmark fans first saw Chandler in 2021’s “Next Stop, Christmas” and more recently in “The Professional Bridesmaid.”

Katherine Barrell is Grace. According to her bio, she’s perhaps best known for her role as Nicole Haught in Syfy’s “Wynonna Earp.” Hallmark fans will recognize her as Joy Harper from the hit series “Good Witch.” She has also starred in Hallmark Channel’s “A Tale of Two Christmases” and “A Godwink Christmas: Miracle of Love” for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, among other films.

Kat added director to her résumé with “Flipping for Christmas,” part of Hallmark Channel’s top-rated Countdown to Christmas lineup.

Alex Hook is Alexa. According to her bio, she began acting at just seven years old. She made a big splash as the lead in Nickelodeon’s “I Am Frankie.” Her early career saw her appearing in numerous commercials, earning a Joey Award in 2015 for Best Actress in a Commercial (ages 13-18). Hook’s other acting credits include the Hallmark Channel original movie “A Nutcracker Christmas,” the Lifetime movie “Galentine’s Day Nightmare,” and “Safe House,” directed by Jeff Glickman. She also stars in “The Way Home.”

Currently, Alex is balancing her passion for acting with pursuing her undergraduate degree at Queen’s University.
