Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond is sharing some very special pictures with her fans.
The Food Network star has been busily uploading pictures from her daughter Paige’s May 17 wedding and promises “I have a zillion more to share.”
Paige and her new husband David Anderson tied the knot in an elaborate ceremony at the Drummond family ranch in Oklahoma.
Ree posted a carousel of pictures- hitting Instagram’s 20 picture maximum- with the caption, “Some of my favorite pics from Saturday. What a joyous day! Love is beautiful. (I have a zillion more to share. Thank you for bearing with me. 😊❤️) So happy for Paige and David! 🥂”
Pictures show both bride and groom getting ready and shots of the outdoor wedding where Paige and David pledged their vows in front of a large wooden cross wrapped in gorgeous coral pink roses and greenery.
Pictures from the reception inside a glassed-in tent show a massive table covered in tall centerpieces full of hundreds, if not thousands, of flowers. The tent also featured a dance floor with flowers and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling above it.
Wedding Features Many Touching Moments
25-year-old Paige is the second of Ree and husband Ladd’s five children to get married.
In fact, oldest daughter Alex, who got married in 2021, gave birth to Ree’s first grandchild, a daughter named Sofia, in December. Sofia attended the wedding and reception decked out in a delicate white dress and flowered headband.
Sofia’s mom Alex posted her own “photo dump” from the wedding, with plenty of shots featuring Sofia. But in her Instagram stories, she wrote, “Sofia didn’t make it through the vows, but she crushed the grand entrance” with a picture of her husband Mauricio holding Sofia as he walked down the aisle.
Father-Daughter Dance Featured a Surprising Song
When it came time for the father-daughter dance, it turns out Paige and dad Ladd Drummond had picked something a little different. The pair chose a Garth Brooks deep cut for their special dance together. They danced to “That Girl Is a Cowboy,” a song off Brooks’ 2005 “The Lost Sessions” album.
It’s not one of Brooks’ better-known songs, but it has a special story behind it.
According to SongFacts, in the liner notes of the album, Brooks said he wrote the song after the death of his horse Cracker Jack. Brooks wanted to bury Cracker Jack, but he couldn’t get home to the horse until the following morning.
When he finally got to Cracker Jack’s pasture, he saw that a friend of his had “slept next to Cracker Jack all night with a 30/30 to keep the coyotes off him,”
Brooks wrote, “Where I’m from, when someone does something extraordinary for someone else, we call him a cowboy. Well, in this case, my buddy was a cowgirl friend of mine named Tami. I guess it just goes to show you … ‘Sometimes the best cowboys ain’t cowboys at all.'”
