Scottish chef, restaurateur and TV personality Gordon Ramsay is finally set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year. Growing up in Scotland, Ramsay dreamed of being a professional soccer player, but after a serious knee injury, Ramsay, now 58, set his sights on a culinary career.
As an aspiring chef, Ramsay worked under the tutelage of renowned restaurateurs like Marco Pierre White, Guy Savoy and Joel Robuchon before securing his first head chef position at La Tante Claire restaurant (later renamed Aubergine) in Chelsea, London under Michelin-star chef Pierre Koffmann.
In 1998, in what the chef refers to as “the most important day of [his] entire cooking career,” Ramsay left his partnership with Aubergine to open his own eatery – Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Also located in London, by 2001 the restaurant had earned its third Michelin star. Ten years later, it remained one of the best restaurants in the UK according to “The Good Food Guide.”
Since then, Ramsay has opened dozens of restaurants across the globe, as well as starring in culinary reality TV programs like “Hell’s Kitchen”, “Kitchen Nightmares”, “MasterChef”, “Secret Service” and more. His prolific status and fiery personality have made him one of the most successful celebrity chefs in the world as he prepares to accept his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

Ramsay Becomes 5th Celebrity Chef to Receive a Star
The recent announcement makes Gordon Ramsay the fifth celebrity chef to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Food Network star Bobby Flay became the first celebrity chef to receive the honor when his star was unveiled in 2015. Two years later, James Beard Award-winner and chef to the stars Wolfgang Puck similarly celebrated the installation of his star on the iconic LA strip.

In 2019, both Guy Fieri, known for his appearances on culinary TV programs like “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and “Guy’s Grocery Games,” and “The French Chef” star Julia Child, received their Hollywood Walk of Fame stars in a joint ceremony. Unfortunately Child’s star was awarded posthumously, with the celebrity chef, credited with bringing French cuisine to the American masses, having passed away in 2004 at 91 years old.
