Following the death of Food Network star Anne Burrell, Gigi Hadid paid a touching tribute, reminiscing about their time together.
The supermodel took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo from their 2020 appearance on “Beat Bobby Flay.” In the image, Hadid sits beside Burrell, seemingly engaged in a warm and friendly conversation.
Hadid wore a maroon sweater with her hair elegantly pulled back in a sleek ponytail. Meanwhile, Burrell opted for a V-neck shirt with a scarf and her iconic platinum blonde mohawk.
Hadid captioned the post:
I am heartbroken to hear of the loss of the Great Anne Burrell. As a longtime fan, getting to share this day with her was a dream come true. Beat Bobby. Hang. Eat. I wish we could have done it again. She was awesome. Rest in Peace, Legend.
Anne Burrell & Gigi Hadid’s Short Yet Memorable Time Together

Hadid and Burrell teamed up for the cooking competition series “Beat Bobby Flay” in 2020. At the time, the two worked closely together and quickly formed a beautiful friendship.
“Superchef Anne Burrell teams up with supermodel Gigi Hadid to give Bobby Flay a real taste of the spotlight,” their episode synopsis read. “They’re hoping international chefs Melissa Araujo and Max Robbins can blind Bobby with their brilliance and cat-walk out with a win.”
Burrell and Hadid were part of the show’s judging panel, where they evaluated the creations of chefs Max Robbins and Melissa Araujo.
Tributes for Burrell Flood Social Media
Hadid wasn’t the only person who paid tribute to Burrell. In an Instagram post, Food Network broke their silence after the chef’s untimely death.
“Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent,” the network’s statement read. “teaching, competing, and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring.”
Burrell’s “Chopped All-Stars Tournament” co-star, Aaron Sanchez, also echoed the same sentiment. “Her spirit, her fire, her talent, her leadership, her laugh—unforgettable,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “I’ll carry her memory with me always.”
Burrell made her debut on television in 2005 as a sous chef for Mark Ladner on “Iron Chef America.” Three years later, she began hosting her own show, “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef.” The series earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Culinary Program in 2011.
Anna Burrell passed away on June 17 after a reported cardiac arrest, per TMZ. She was just 55 years old.
