Anne Burrell Tribute: Food Network Honors Late Chef With Special Programming & Final ‘Worst Cooks’ Season

The passing of world renowned chef Anne Burrell hit the restaurant community extremely hard.

Known for her work on Food Network in such roles as working as Mario Batali’s sous chef on “Iron Chef America” and hosting “Worst Cooks in America,” Burrell was lauded for her energetic personality and straightforward cooking methods.

The Food Network star died in Brooklyn on June 17th. She was 55.

Now, Warner Bros. Discovery will celebrate her life this week.

Celebrating Anne

According to a press release, Food Network will celebrate the life and work of Burrell with a couple of special programming notes.

Wednesday, June 25th will see “a curated selection of encore episodes featuring Anne will highlight her extraordinary talent as a chef, competitor and teacher.” The block starts airing at 10 PM EST/PST.

The special block will feature episodes from “Guy’s Grocery Games,” “Worst Cooks in America: Worst of the Worst,” and “Worst Cooks in America: Boot Camp Diaries.”

“Worst Cooks in America” Returns One Final Time

The same press release says the final season of “Worst Cooks in America” – subtitled “Talented and Terrible” – will debut in July on Food Network.

The new season will follow cooks “who are professional performers and used to stealing the spotlight, but in the kitchen, they are dishing out disasters. Anne was joined by boot camp’s newest mentor, Chef Gabe Bertaccini, as they worked together to turn these culinary flops into food masters.”

That will air on Monday, July 28th at 9 PM EST/PST.

“Anne Burrell was a one-of-a-kind talent whose loss is being deeply felt by family, friends and fans,” said Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros. Discovery.

“With these special programming events, we hope to honor Anne and celebrate her impact on Food Network and beyond, and to offer fans a way to remember her passion and culinary prowess that ran through everything she did.”
