Less than a year before she died, “Worst Cooks In America” star Anne Burrell let TODAY inside her Brooklyn apartment for a tour. The home where the star was found unresponsive on June 17, 2025 was featured on the “Hoda & Jenna’s House Tour” segment around July 2024.
Anne Burrell Had a Colorful, Maximalist Apartment
At the time of the tour, the home had been “newly renovated,” according to the the TODAY hosts. “Welcome to my world of color!” Burrell explained as she kicked off the walkthrough of her whimsical place. She first showed off her well-stocked home bar, revealing she has a rule that she will mix one drink per guest before leaving them to their own devices. Maker’s Mark and Woodford Reserve bourbon, Tito’s vodka, and Bailey’s Irish cream liqueur were among the bottles in her collection.
In the kitchen, Burrell had transformed the plain brown cabinets to a deep jade color and added extra countertop space. She said it was in need of “some love and a facelift” before adding that her design goal was to create “a world of color and joy.”
Showing off the unique hardware on her cabinetry, Burrell laughed that her husband Stuart Claxton, whom People says she married in 2021, compared them to “garlic bulbs.” The chef called her pot filler water faucet the number one must-have feature in her kitchen. “Those are just sexy,” she said. She explained her choice to utilize open shelving for her cooking equipment by saying, “I like to have the tools of my craft on display.”
Stepping out of the kitchen, Burrell showed off her combined living/dining area. Reclining on a cloud-like couch, the “Chef Wanted” star revealed she loved to knit, saying she was on “baby blanket number 40.” She also shared that she loved hosting at her dining room table, and gave the practical tip of placing flowers in tomato cans so they could be sent home with her guests.
Burrell, who Parade says was worth around $4 million, also showed TODAY the outdoor “oasis” she created on her terrace, inviting Hoda & Jenna to “come by for a cocktail anytime.” Declaring she would never have guests inside her apartment without feeding them, the cook wrapped up the tour by preparing a summer crostini with an arugula salad on the side.
Anne Burrell’s Brooklyn Apartment Was Worth Over $1 Million
According to Realtor.com, the apartment in which Burrell was discovered lifeless on the morning of June 17, 2025 was worth $1.5 million. The outlet said she had been living there since 2019. A June 24 People report says the outlet was told by a source that Burrell’s friends and family are “all shocked and confused” at her passing.
On June 19, Page Six reported that “a large quantity of pills” were found at the scene of the chef’s death. As you know, Burrell was discovered by her husband Stuart Claxton, who dialed 911 and reported a possible “cardiac arrest,” per KTLA.
