DWTS Alum Makes Rare Public Appearance Following Serious Health News

Season 12 “Dancing With the Stars” alum Wendy Williams stepped out for her son’s college graduation on December 19 in the Sunshine State.

The former talk show host sat in a motorized scooter at Florida International University where Kevin Hunter Jr., 24, accepted his degree. As seen in a photo obtained by People magazine, Williams wore a shimmery black dress with a low cut neck and a slit in the leg. She paired the look with some Chanel shoes and lots of jewelry.

Williams has been dealing with a variety of health issues, including Graves disease and frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. The latter diagnosis came in 2023.

Her popular talk show, “The Wendy Williams Show,” was canceled in June 2022. EntertainmentNOW has reached out to a rep for Williams for an update and has not heard back.

Wendy Williams’ Guardian Declared Her ‘Permanently Incapacitated’

In November 2024, USA Today reported on a new court filing involving Williams. She was deemed “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated” according to attorneys for for her guardian Sabrina Morrissey.

Morrissey has taken legal action following the release of the docuseries “Where is Wendy Williams?” The series, released in February 2024 on Lifetime, features four episodes. Morrissey claims that those involved in the production of the show took “advantage of (Williams) in the cruelest, most obscene way possible for their own financial gain.”

Her comments about Williams’ overall health were in a memo associated with the lawsuit.

Fans Reacted to Another Video of Wendy Williams

On December 15, an Instagram user uploaded a video of Williams in Fort Lauderdale. She was sitting in a car outside of Sista Sara’s Shonuff Oysters and was with her nephew Travis Finnie. Someone brought over a take out order for Williams and Finnie.

Many fans commented on the video and stated that Williams looked good despite the comments made by her guardian a month prior.

“She doesn’t look or sound ‘permanently incapacitated.’ Something is super off with this whole mess,” one person wrote.

“She looks almost ready for her purple chair,” someone else added.

“I don’t know why the internet wants Wendy on her death bed. It’s so sad. If folks would speak life over her, we would see life in her. I’m glad to see life in her!!! Be well, Wendy,” a third comment read.

“She looks and sounds normal,” another Instagram user said.
