Former “Bachelorette” lead Trista Sutter is speaking out about her time on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.” Sutter is no stranger to reality television — she also did “Dancing With the Stars” — but her new gig caused some rumors that her marriage to Ryan Sutter was over.
While she was filming overseas and away from her family, some people jumped to the worst conclusion, which wasn’t easy for the family. Now that Sutter can share what she was doing while she was away, she says she’s relieved that everything “totally makes sense.”
“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s finally here!’ So excited to finally share with everybody.’ I think there was a lot of speculation at that point in time when [Ryan] posted and then it died down, which it always does,” she told People magazine.
“But it was still really amazing to finally share — this is why he shouted that from the rooftops. And if you read it again, the post, knowing that that’s where I was, it totally makes sense,” she added.
Sutter’s season of “Special Forces” is set to premiere on Fox on January 8, 2025.
Fans Became Concerned After Ryan Sutter’s Cryptic Instagram Post
Back in May, Ryan Sutter shared a post about his wife that had fans scratching their heads.
“I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you’re doing? How was your day. I’d really like to hear your voice – just for a minute. So many times I’ve called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I’d miss the opportunity if it were gone,” he captioned the post.
“I want to know how you’re doing,” he continued, saying that he couldn’t be “there” for his wife.
“And that’s ok cause I know you need this time – time to discover yourself again,” he continued, adding, “So I’ll be here for you instead. I’ll be here when you get back,” he said, concluding that he’d be there for Trista Sutter “forever.”
Fans were quick to comment on the post and ask what was going on.
“Did she leave him?? What’s going on??” one fan wondered.
“Is she in treatment?” someone else asked.
A couple days later, Trista Sutter took to her Instagram feed to let everyone know that she was okay — and so was her marriage.
Trista Sutter Confirmed She’d Been Away Filming ‘Special Forces’
In November, Trista Sutter could finally announce the reason that she was away from her family.
“Was it a divorce/nervous breakdown/mid-life crisis/death/trial separation back in May?! Not unless that’s what you call Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, season 3!” she captioned an Instagram post.
“Thankfully, none of those things are associated with my experience in filming the show, but as you get a glimpse of in the trailer, the angel on my shoulder did have to face some pretty big battles.
You’ll have to tune in in January to see the battles play out, but for now, just so grateful to be a part of this epic adventure,” she added.
Other cast members include Stephen Baldwin, Denise Richards, Cam Newton and former “Bachelorette” lead, Ali (Fedotowsky) Manno.
