“Dancing With the Stars” pro Sharna Burgess received some messages from fans thanking her for being a “light” in dark times.
On January 31, the ballroom pro took to Instagram to share a bit about how she’s choosing to use the platform.
“Yesterday I said on stories I was taking a break from my feed because it’s all just scary, depressing, infuriating (insert your own adjective here…) and I just needed a breather. But then I had multiple messages that thanked me for being a light, and reminded me that I CAN BE a light,” she wrote.
“So while I’m going to heavily curate my feed for my own sanity and stay away from news or triggering accounts, I will continue to share the good stuff, find joy in it and make the most of it. So maybe I won’t take a break so much as I will reshape the way I interact with and observe content on here. And make a conscious effort to try and bring light with whatever I’m sharing,” she added.
Burgess’ post came on the heels of the D.C. plane crash that left nearly 70 people dead.
Sharna Burgess’ Message Was Well Received by Fans
Burgess let her followers know that she planned on keeping things fun and light on her page.
“Lots of the usual sharing mum life realness, skits with Bri, work life and making a point to share positive thoughts, reshare the good news I see, and shining a light on things we can actually do something about together,” her Instagram post concluded.
Many of her followers reacted in the comments section.
“We need more positive in this world,” one person said.
“Hang in there , and I suggest curating your algorithm as well so more fun things show up! This is social media, it should be a fun space not dark, scary or depressing. You got this,” someone else added.
“You truly are a light Sharna and it radiates from within you! Thank you for shining your light for us,” a third comment read.
“I have done the same. Only positive! You are the light in a dark world,” a fourth Instagram user wrote.
Sharna Burgess Has Enlisted Brian Austin Green for Some Fun Instagram Posts
Burgess has enlisted the help of her fiance, Brian Austin Green, to make some fun videos and try some various challenges. She often posts fun clips of them trying new things together, which fans seem to love.
“A little post Thanksgiving challenge 🙂 show us yours! Side note for parents… have you guys started this elf on a shelf madness yet? We haven’t.. it crept up real fast and I’m not ready for that kind of commitment so I think our elves will be fashionably late…. How the heck did December get here so damn fast?!” she captioned a post in November 2024.
