Ricki Lake Reveals ‘Brave’ Cosmetic Surgery

Ricki Lake is sharing the details of the facelift that she underwent last year. The “Dancing With the Stars” alum posted a series of photos on Instagram, featuring before and after pics, surgery consults, and post-op healing. 

“One year later, I look back on my brave choice and consider it one of the best decisions I ever made for myself,” Lake wrote in the caption. She also detailed what led to her choosing the procedure and gave a shout-out to her surgeon Dr. Foulad who she called “a true master in his field.” 

Why Ricki Lake Chose the Procedure

Lake was her usual candid self in explaining exactly what led to her decision to undergo a facelift. She explained that part of the reason had to do with a recent weight loss that affected the look of some of her features. 

“I had lost 40 lbs and did not like the extra skin that hung from below my chin,” the former talk show host shared. “It was never going to tighten up on its own. Not at 55.”

But Lake was still proud of accomplishing her weight loss goal, and wasn’t shy about saying so. “Trust me, when I tell you, I still felt extra cute and loved myself regardless, especially after working so hard to get in the best shape of my life,” she revealed. 

Lake referred to her cosmetic procedure as “the icing on the cake” when it came to her overall new look. And as for why she was being open about the work she’d had done? That’s just Lake’s style. “I share with all of you, as I am an open book and always will be,” she wrote.

A Friend Inspired Ricki Lake’s Transformation

According to Lake’s Instagram post, the exact procedure she underwent was a “deep plane lower face and neck lift, plus a mild co2 laser.” She found the surgeon who performed the procedure through a friend, and was especially grateful for the recommendation.

“After a dear friend had the most incredible experience with Dr, Foulad, I made the decision to follow in her footsteps,” Lake shared. “She is that friend that does all the research and due diligence for you … So thankful for her going first.”

And it seems that Lake had extra support while healing from her surgery. In one of the pics in her photo carousel Lake is seen bandaged up, lounging in bed with her husband, Ross Burningham. Lake described the photo as “day 2 with my sweet husband. He was so nervous yet so supportive.”
