Season 12 “Dancing With the Stars” alum Mike Catherwood had quite a time for himself on his season. Although he and pro partner Lacey Schwimmer were the first ones to go home, the radio personality got to know some of the cast and crew really well.
On the December 8 episode of the “Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans” podcast, Catherwood told host Cheryl Burke that he hooked up with two people from the crew.
“Who was it from wardrobe and from the glam department did you have sexual relations with?” Burke asked.
“No, no no. I’m not going to give you [names,]” he responded.
“Do you even remember names?” she asked.
“I definitely remember the production person’s name. I do not — I don’t think I do remember the wardrobe person,” he said.
“Wardrobe? I don’t think it’s a wardrobe,” Burke said.
“Yeah,” Catherwood answered.
“Okay. I’ll stop there. I’ll respect your wishes,” Burke said before moving on in the interview.
Catherwood didn’t share any additional details about the relationships he fostered while on the show.
DWTS Fans Thought Mike Catherwood’s Dancing Was ‘Bad’
Over the summer, some “Dancing With the Stars” fans weighed in on how they rank Catherwood as a dancer on the show. A fan made a tiermaker list and the vast majority of people who participated ranked him as “bad.”
“Bad…wasn’t good at any level,” one person wrote.
“Bad is probably the best description, but I feel a little like going against the grain a bit and saying More Data Needed … he was by far the most unknown that season (and maybe across quite a few seasons?), but I remember him being pretty charming and definitely trying his best. But I also remember he was pretty bad, so who knows if he would have gotten better,” someone else said.
Mike Catherwood Felt He Really Couldn’t Dance
Following Catherwood’s elimination, he spoke with People magazine about why he felt he was voted off the show.
“I’m sure there are a lot of past competitors that sparked a dancer within them, but I am not one of those people. If anything, the only relief that comes with being eliminated tonight is knowing that I don’t have to go back in and frustrate myself and Lacey with my horrible dancing,” he told the outlet, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In the same interview, Catherwood admitted that he’d miss Schwimmer the most.
“I’ll take away a friend. It’s been a great experience for that reason and that reason alone. You realize as you get a little older … that nothing else really matters in life except the relationships you develop, and I’ve been lucky enough to develop a lot of them – but most importantly, Lacey,” he said.
In an interview with Today, Catherwood made a joke about his elimination.
“I’m not a dancer, I get to go back to my regular job–this is her job, dancing’s her life, her livelihood…Everybody’s yelling at Obama: What are you going to do about jobs? Look at me! I’m losing people’s jobs left and right. And with a big smile on my face,” he said.
