DWTS Alum Gives Chilling Details of Intruder Who Entered Her Bedroom

Season 13 “Dancing With the Stars” alum Kristin Cavallari recalled one of the scariest moments of her life.

“My kids still do not know to this day,” Cavallari said on the December 17 episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast. “That night I had Cam in the bed with me. Cam and I were sleeping. And I woke up to a man crawling on my bedroom floor,” she explained.

At the time, Cavallari and her kids were in the Bahamas. The family, including Cavallari’s now-ex-husband Jay Cutler, was forced to stay in the Caribbean islands for one month due to the pandemic.

“I was so out of it because obviously I had just woken up. And I go, ‘What the [expletive] are you doing?’ And this man stands up, runs out the door, and, you guys, he had a ski mask on, full black arms, black pants, the full thing. And I went ‘oh, [expletive],'” she said.

Cavallari and Cutler split that same year. They share three kids together, Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 9.

Cavallari did her best to keep her cool at the time because she didn’t want to upset her kids.

“Because Cam was in the bed with me, I didn’t yell. I didn’t scream. You think in those moments that that’s what you’d do, but your instincts just kick in. I honestly felt like I was in ‘Mission Impossible.’ Once I woke Jay up, then I got really nervous. Then I start [to get] like, really scared. I started shaking, and I was able to process then what just happened. But until that point, I was not scared. I was really calm. You just are running off of instinct,” she said on her podcast.

“The Hills” star said that she chose not to share the story with her three kids because she doesn’t want them to live in fear. “I will not tell them, probably, until they’re adults,” she added.

As it turns out, Cavallari said that the man who was in her room did HVAC for the property. He took all of the money they had — but they ended up getting the money back.

Kristin Cavallari Is Going on a Podcast Tour

As Cavallari continues being vulnerable on her podcast, its success and her popularity has led to her going on a podcast tour in 2025.

“I am so excited to take ‘Let’s Be Honest’ on the road in 2025. This audience has been so engaged, supportive and honest with me over the past year, so I could not be more thrilled to finally connect with everyone in person,” Cavallari said in a statement to Variety just days before her podcast about the intruder went live.

“‘The Headline Tour’ is going to be inspiring, fun, and most importantly, very, very honest. Each tour stop will feature a guest who has made the biggest headlines and impact on the podcast, and together we’ll pull back the curtain and dive in even further. This podcast has taught me the power of total honesty — it is liberating — and I cannot wait to experience more of this with all of you,” she added.

The first tour stop is Atlanta, Georgia, on March 7.
