Kristin Cavallari Felt Blindsided by ‘First Love’ on Tour Stop

It’s easy to look back at specific points in our lives with rose-colored glasses. We remember high school as the best time of our lives. You’ve never had another friend like that best friend from grade school.

But for many, it’s that one past relationship that was so perfect until it all fell apart. As Kristin Cavallari embarks on her newest reality series, “Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour,” she finds that many of her memories are being challenged. But she wasn’t expecting such an awkward conversation with her first boyfriend, Johnny.

Kristin Cavallari’s Sweet Memories Turned Sour With Johnny Amid Their On-Screen Reunion

Cavallari’s third episode of her reality tour did not go as she hoped. Every sweet memory the “Dancing With the Stars” alum brought up to first love, Johnny, he’d respond negatively. Even when she brought up that he’d broken her heart when he’d hooked up with her best friend, he turned it around, claiming she’d actually hooked up with his best friend.

“I literally used to wake up and I had poems on my window and it was so incredibly sweet. I was trying to give him that opportunity and he just kept tearing it down and I was just like, ‘What is going on?’ I didn’t understand that.”

Before her encounter with her ex, Johnny, Cavallari had another ex from her “Laguna Hills” days, Talan Torriero, on Episode 2. While she claimed she “expected” him to act like a jerk, she was still disappointed. “These guys just love to put me down in front of everybody,” she told her BFF Justin Anderson.

Even so, she didn’t expect the same behavior from Johnny, her first love. “I think the hard part for me was I had held Johnny in this high regard for so many years,” she told Us Weekly. “To have Talon and Johnny back-to-back diminish what we had and almost make it just purely about sex was really difficult for me.”

Kristin Cavallari Says Confrontation With Johnny Made Her ‘Realize How Far I’ve Come’

What made Cavallari’s confrontation with Johnny so difficult to watch was that she had spoken so highly of him on her podcast. She referred to him as the only “connection” she had when she was going through difficult times at home.

“I’ve talked about him a couple of times on the podcast. We were as in love as you can be at the tender age of 13 and 14,” Cavallari said in a confessional before the show aired.

Cavallari admitted that it had been 15 years since she’d seen Johnny. “We all know how it is to get over your first love, it’s very difficult,” she said. “I do wonder if I’ve sort of like, changed the narrative in my own mind all these years. To have his perspective, I think, is going to be awesome.”

After hearing his “perspective,” Cavallari plans to be much more careful in the future about who she talks with onstage.

“I thought it was going to go very differently than it did,” Cavallari told Us Weekly. “That was really difficult for me. The tour ended up being way more personal than I had anticipated. Way more from my past came up and it was a great opportunity for me to realize how far I’ve come so I’m thankful for it.”
