Season 31 “Dancing With the Stars” alum and “Bachelorette” star Gabby Windey is opening up about being on reality television again, this time after coming out.
During an interview on the January 13 episode of “The Nikki and Brie Show” podcast, Windey talked about her time on season 3 of “The Traitors.”
“I think if anything, I feel like since I’ve been dating Robby and kind of like whatever, explored my sexuality, I feel like I’m just more confident because it already allows you to be different. And you have to own it and it’s been like such a great experience for me, so I feel like now, this season more than ever, I’m really leaning into femininity and the strength of a woman,” Windey said.
“I feel like that’s a huge theme I think for this season, ’cause we had really strong women and lots of gays, which is nice, so I feel like yeah. They’ll see a different side of me, but I feel like it’s gonna be more empowered,” she added.
Windey is no stranger to reality television. After appearing on “The Bachelor,” she handed out roses on “The Bachelorette.” After getting engaged to Erich Schwer on the finale, Windey went on to compete on DWTS. The two split shortly after the season began.
Fans Are Loving Gabby Windey on ‘The Traitors’

Windey’s personality is shining through on “The Traitors” and fans are loving her on the show so far. In fact, following the first three episodes, fans took to Reddit to react specifically to Windey’s performance as a faithful.
“I have a feeling she will be a star player this season,” one Redditor wrote, kicking off a new thread.
“Such a great line. I’ve been enjoying her little one liners so much,” someone else said.
“I don’t know anything about this woman but I’m becoming obsessed with her,” a third comment read.
“Literally everything she’s done is already iconic. Refusing to say hi to Tom Sandoval, ‘I’m a lesbian now,’ immediately clocking the boys club vibe on the boat, ‘no it’s alright we can be a clique,’ etc etc. I NEED her to make it to the end!!!” a fourth person added.
Gabby Windey Came Out on ‘The View’
In 2023, Windey went on “The View” to share that she was dating someone new following her split from Schwer. She told the hosts that she’d been “seeing someone for a couple of months” but wanted to come on the show to make the announcement.
She explained that this relationship was different and that she kept it private because she was dating a girl.
“People know me and have kind of related to me on the previous shows I’ve been on and I really appreciate them. Knowing how much people really care, I just want to be honest, I don’t want to live and not be living my full truth. I don’t want to do that to myself,” she said.
She went Instagram official with partner Robby Hoffman the same day.
