Former DWTS Pro Cheryl Burke May Be Ending Controversial Podcast

Former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Cheryl Burke opened up about the future of her controversial podcast on the December 4 episode.

“We will reevaluate everything come January. So I’m going to save that question and really answer that more towards the end of December or mid-December. Once I know, you’ll know. How about that? There is a chance, like I’ve said earlier, I’m not going to do this forever. And I have a lot of different opportunities coming my way,” Burke said on “Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans.”

Burke went on to explain how time-consuming the podcast has been for her and said that she wouldn’t be able to keep up with it and do something else.

“If I can’t really commit to this podcast due to other opportunities that are coming my way, then I will have to pause it for now. It’s nothing’s forever. So keep you posted on that,” she added.

Cheryl Burke’s Podcast Has Been Dubbed as Being Controversial

After retiring from “Dancing With the Stars” in 2022, Burke started her “Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans” podcast. The conversations center around the show and her guests have been pros and former contestants whom she interviews each week.

Burke discusses the lives of the people she has on her show before diving into their experiences on “Dancing With the Stars.” Some people think the podcast trashes the show and the people on it, though Burke maintains that’s not what she’s trying to do at all.

“I will always be Dancing with the Stars’ number one fan, that’s never gonna go away. The last thing that I want to do, or want to come across as, is someone who isn’t grateful for her experience on Dancing with the Stars, and I am, as you guys know, beyond grateful,” she said on the April 29 episode.

Cheryl Burke Believes Her Podcast Left a Sour Taste in the Mouths of the Powers That Be at DWTS

Burke was not invited to participate in a tribute to Len Goodman that took place following his death in 2023. She thinks the reason was her podcast.

“I would assume that some people may not be happy with my podcast that I have,” Burke said on the  April 16 episode of the “Amy and T.J.” podcast.

“First of all, I found out when everyone else found out and that was just such a stab in the heart like for me. It was like I just couldn’t believe that I wasn’t included in just something so special. Like, regardless, if you want to look up OG in the dictionary, regardless. Like, I should have been there like we all know this. [And I at] least have been in the audience maybe, you know. But clearly that wasn’t the case,” she explained.

“And I wanted to be clear with everybody before rumors started happening and before it just escalated with like oh, I chose not to be there. That’s just not the case,” she said, adding that she feels the snub was “intentional.”
