The ACM Awards won’t air until May 8, but Zach Top already knows where he stands in the New Male Artist of the Year category. As Billboard reported, the country music singer was getting ready to perform for a packed house when he learned that he had won the award. As if winning his first ACM Award wasn’t already special, Top got the news via a video message from one of the most decorated pairs in country, Brooks & Dunn.
ACM shared a video of Top receiving his award backstage at the North Carolina venue. In the video, Top thanks his fans for supporting him. “It means the world to me, I’ve always wanted to just play and sing for a living,” he said. “So thank you so much, this is beautiful.”
Top Had Stiff Competition For The Award

Top has had an undeniably great year since his debut album, “Cold Beer & Country Music,” debuted in April 2024. As Billboard reported, the album spawned two top-20 Country Airplay chart hits, with “I Never Lie” peaking at #7. He has also joined Alan Jackson on tour in 2025.
Nevertheless, Top’s competition for the New Male Artist of the Year award was stiff, including Bailey Zimmerman, Tucker Wetmore, and Gavin Adcock. Top even bested Shaboozey, who is also up for a Best Single of the Year award for his infectious radio hit, “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” This is Top’s first nomination, and his first win. He is also in the running for Album of the Year, a category in which he’ll face off against Post Malone, Lainey Wilson, and other ultra-talented acts.
The Singer is Touring to Support His Album

The performance Top was getting ready for when he received his ACM award is part of his ongoing tour. As his official website shared, the singer will make stops around the U.S. throughout the summer. Upcoming shows include a final performance alongside Alan Jackson in Tampa, Florida, as well as an appearance at CMA Fest 2025 in June. Top will also join fellow singer Dierks Bentley for several concerts in July and August.
