After winning his first ACM award, singer Zach Top has scored yet another career first. As Saving Country Music reported, Top now has his first number-one hit under his belt. “I Never Lie” is officially at the top of the country radio chart for Mediabase, unseating Morgan Wallen’s “I’m The Problem.”
However, “I’m The Problem” isn’t the only seemingly unstoppable hit Top had to step over to achieve this major career milestone. Also vying for the coveted top spot is Megan Moroney with “Am I Okay?” as well as the ever-popular Riley Green track, “Worst Way.” With more summer concerts on deck and a potential new album this year, Top is just getting started.
Fans Celebrated “I Never Lie” Being Certified Platinum in April

Making it to number one is a major achievement for any single, but this isn’t the first accolade “I Never Lie” has racked up for Top. As Country Central shared on Facebook, the RIAA certified the song platinum a full month before it officially topped the charts.
Fans in the comments section were quick to share congratulatory messages for Top, with many commenting on the quality of the song. Others said the young star is very deserving of all of his recent success. One fan said they had already predicted his rise to stardom: “I knew when I first heard him that he would make it big. Classic Country sounds, guitar, string, steel and cowboy hat and adorable attitude. He’s got it all.”
Top is Touring This Summer and Has a New Album in the Works

Although Top is still enjoying plenty of success from 2024’s “Cold Beer & Country Music,” that album is only the beginning. He is currently touring around the U.S., and will also appear alongside Alan Jackson for his last-ever live performance on May 17th.
As Country 97.1 revealed, the singer previously shared that he’ll also be releasing a new album this summer. In a Q&A session for Spotify x Houston Rodeo in March, Top said: “I just went in and tracked a few more songs to finish out the second record. So we got that finished up and are getting it mixed right now.” He didn’t share a release date at the time, but anticipation is undoubtedly high for this next phase of his musical journey.
