Where Was Morgan Wallen During The ACM Awards? Here’s What We Know

The ACM Awards are a big night in country music, but it appears Morgan Wallen had other places to be. The country music star was up for seven awards at the 60th anniversary ceremony, but he was conspicuously absent from the event. But where was he?

Although Wallen hasn’t shared exactly where he spent the evening, American Songwriter shared a photo from the singer’s Instagram Stories that shows where he was during the day of the event: playing golf with NFL star Tom Brady. “Had a little mustard on it,” Wallen captioned a photo of Brady throwing him a ball on a golf course. However, considering the end results for all of his nomination categories, the singer didn’t miss very much.

Wallen Was Shut Out in Every ACM Category for Which he Was Nominated

Despite having a very successful year, Wallen metaphorically walked away from the ACM Awards empty-handed this year. Notable winners from this year’s event include Ella Langley, who snagged a stunning five awards — more than any other artist this year. Lainey Wilson was also a big winner, securing the Entertainer of the Year Award for the second year in a row.

Nevertheless, Wallen has plenty to celebrate in 2025. As Taste of Country reported in April, the singer smashed a Taylor Swift record, becoming the first artist to have five Billboard top-ten hits from an unreleased album. That album, “I’m The Problem,” is scheduled for release on May 16. The singer will also be going on tour in support of the album release this month.

The Singer Has Made a Habit of Skipping Awards Ceremonies

Wallen flaking on the ACMs is definitely notable, but it’s not the first time the singer has skipped an awards ceremony. As People shared, he also skipped out on the 2025 Grammy Awards back in February, where he was nominated for two awards. These were his first Grammy nominations but, surprisingly, he also didn’t score a win at that event.

Even before 2025, Wallen wasn’t a fixture at award events. He sat out the 2024 CMAs ceremony as well, in spite of an Entertainer of the Year nomination. However, unlike this year’s ceremonies (so far), the singer emerged victorious in that coveted CMA category.
