Ella Langley ‘Couldn’t Move’ When She Met This Country Star

Even famous country music singers get star-struck! During a recent appearance on Taste of Country Nights, “Weren’t For The Wind” singer Ella Langley shared how stunned she was to meet the one and only Reba McEntire. The pair met backstage at the ACMs, and Langley’s team let her know that McEntire was in the building before the big moment. “They leaned over to me and said, ‘Prepare yourself. It’s Reba,'” the singer said.

Of course, there’s only so much you can do when preparing to meet someone you look up to. “I couldn’t move anymore,” Langley confessed. “And she walked right past me and I just looked at her and I was gonna let her keep walking, but I couldn’t.” The singer took the opportunity to make a memorable introduction.

Langley Told McEntire How She Really Felt

Many of us would like to think we’d say something profound when face to face with a celebrity. In reality, that doesn’t always happen. Langley shared that she called after McEntire as she walked by, simply saying “Reba, Reba — uh, Miss Reba!”

Much to her surprise, the “Fancy” singer recognized her immediately. “She knew who I was before I could introduce myself, and I was just stunned,” Langley said. The shock of this led her to blurt out a heartfelt confession. “All I could get out was, ‘I love you, I love you.'” She went on to say that the moment was truly memorable.

The Singer Received One of Her ACMs From McEntire

Before the singers crossed paths in person, McEntire surprised Langley and her duet partner, Riley Green, with a special surprise. As AL.com shared, McEntire awarded the pair the Visual Media of the Year ACM via video message. “Sorry to interrupt, but I have some big news,” McEntire said in the video, which played during a concert. “‘You Look Like You Love Me’ has won the ACM for Visual Media of the Year. Congratulations to Ella and Riley!”

Langley went on to win a stunning five ACM awards this year, more than any other artist at the event’s 60th anniversary. For her part, McEntire was the event’s host, a role she’s held more often than any other country star over the years.
