The COVID-19 pandemic was life-changing for people around the world, including many well-known celebrities. For Trisha Yearwood, COVID-19 wasn’t just a passing illness. As the country music star recently shared on a BobbyCast episode, the virus had a lingering impact on her health. “I had a mild case of COVID, but it really messed with my smell and taste,” she explained. “I would say I’m a ‘long COVID’ person. So I had all the brain fog.”
Although brain fog can sometimes be part of the normal aging process, Yearwood knew there was more to it than that. “Like I can’t I’m looking at a rolling pin and I can’t name it,” she explained to Bobby Bones. “So I either have early onset Alzheimer’s or something’s wrong.” Luckily, Yearwood eventually found a treatment that changed her life for the better.
Yearwood Tried LENS Therapy Thanks to a Friend

In the end, LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) therapy sessions helped Yearwood overcome her long COVID symptoms. However, the singer was cautiously optimistic at first. “I didn’t tell anybody I was going because I was like, ‘I don’t understand what this does,'” she said. “But the first thing I noticed was I was sleeping better than I had slept in 10 years.”
LENS, a treatment that stimulates brain wave activity, was a game-changer for Yearwood. “I feel like my brain feels like it did in my 30s,” she said. The singer celebrated her 60th birthday last September, so this improvement is significant. Yearwood also shared that she has tried acupuncture in the past, and also relies on periodic dry needling to support her strength training.
The Singer Put That Mental Clarity to Good Use on Her New Album

Although Yearwood didn’t specify when she underwent treatment, improved mental clarity would have been a definite asset for working on her upcoming album. “The Mirror” gets its official release on July 18th, and represents the first time that Yearwood flexed her songwriting muscles on an album. She also co-produced the entire album, another career first.
The last time Yearwood released an album was way back in 2021, so it has been a long wait for new music for fans. “The Mirror” promises to be a deeply personal record, reflecting a new chapter for Yearwood.
