Tim McGraw Reveals the Extent of Health Crisis

Country superstar Tim McGraw has been fighting a battle with his health that is much worse than previously thought.

McGraw was a guest on “The Bobby Bones” show May 23, where he told Bones that he has had five surgeries in the past “6 to 8 months” including three back surgeries and two total knee replacements.

“I’m on the upswing now,” he told the host of his recovery process. “You know, some mornings are good, some morning it takes a little while, but it’s getting there.”

“I’ve done a lot of rehab, a lot of P-T [physical therapy] and now I’m slowly getting back to a routine, very light, but you know, working my way up to it,” said McGraw.

“Can you get back to 100%?” asked Bones. “Hopefully close, hopefully close,” replied the singer. “Hopefully 100%, but we’ll see.”

Tim McGraw Returns to the Stage May 31

Tim McGraw doesn’t have a lot of time left to get stage ready.

He’s scheduled to perform on May 31 at the first-ever Music City Rodeo at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

McGraw is headlining the third night of the event following Reba McEntire on day one and Jelly Roll on day two.

But he’s more than just a performer. McGraw is a co-founder of the Music City Rodeo, which is the city’s first professional rodeo.

The rodeo is a collaboration between the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and Tim McGraw’s entertainment group, Down Home.

Tim McGraw Invites Pop Superstar to Join Him On Stage at the Rodeo

If he has his way, Tim McGraw won’t be on stage alone when he performs at the Music City Rodeo.

After seeing a clip of pop superstar Ed Sheeran on an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast saying “I feel like a rodeo is culture,” and explaining that he had asked his manager to look into the possibility of Sheeran touring rodeos, Tim reached out with an Instagram post.

In the post, Tim McGraw is flanked by two rodeo competitors. He addresses Ed Sheeran, saying, “We hear you wanted to come see a rodeo, so we’re officially inviting you to the Music City Rodeo. So come down and see us,”

McGraw refers to his cowboy companions saying, “Cole, here, is gonna be competing. He’s gonna win all the money this year. Tim’s a little injured, so he’s gotta wait ’til next year’s rodeo. But we’ll send him to come rope you and drag you to the rodeo if you don’t show up.”

If you want to show up, you can get tickets to the inaugural Music City Rodeo here.
