It looks like we finally know what Thomas Rhett was teasing when he hinted at a new collaboration earlier this year. The country star has officially teamed up with rising artist Tucker Wetmore for their new single, “Small Town Girls,” released just ahead of Rhett’s upcoming Better In Boots Tour, which kicks off in June. Wetmore will join Rhett for select tour dates, along with special guests Dasha and The Castellows. The tour wraps up in September in Ridgefield, Washington.
The track, already being called a “summer anthem” by fans, features a playful music video that shows Rhett and Wetmore as over-the-top 1980s salesmen, eager to close a deal at their fictional store.
‘Small Town Girl’ Music Video
In addition to the single, Rhett also released two new tracks as part of the deluxe edition of his seventh studio album, “About a Woman (From a Small Town).” The new songs include “I’m That Guy,” which carries an R&B influence, and a track described by many as a “country disco jam,” titled “Dance With You.”
“When we were deciding what to include on About a Woman last year, I had about 30 songs we were picking between,” Rhett said in a press statement. “We landed on the 14 that came out in August, knowing we could keep releasing more of the others.”
He added, “These three are feel-good summer songs that the band and I have already started rehearsing for the tour, and getting to sing ‘Small Town Girls’ with Tucker every night is going to be a blast. I’m looking forward to putting out more throughout the summer.”
