Shania Twain Teases Plans for Big Upcoming Milestone

Country music star Shania Twain is winding down her “Queen of Me” tour, but that’s not the only thing the singer has to celebrate this year. In an interview with 106.5 WYRK from Buffalo, New York, Twain shared how she plans to spend a big personal milestone this year: her 60th birthday.

“This specific stretch of shows is the end of an era for me,” Twain said, referring to her last few scheduled performances for the “Queen of Me” tour. “You know, it’s my last summer at 59. I’m building up to celebrating my 60th birthday in August. It’s just a whole new chapter change.” Although many people find change scary, the singer seems ready to face this new phase of life head-on.

The Singer Will Spend Her Birthday Working on New Music

Milestone birthday aside, Twain asserts that she’ll still be very busy this summer. “This is also the beginning of a new music era for me, because I’m in the studio making a new album,” she told 106.5 WYRK when asked how she’ll ring in her 60th. Her last studio album, “Queen of Me,” came out in 2023.

The singer went on to explain that she’ll start her next trip around the sun with a celebration in the Bahamas, the primary recording location for her upcoming album. “I will literally leave the August shows and get back to the Bahamas, in the studio,” Twain concluded.

Twain Shared When Fans Might Expect to Hear New Music

Of course, the idea of Twain releasing new music is an exciting prospect for fans. When asked about a possible timeline for those releases, the singer said not to expect anything immediately. “I’m really taking my time with it,” she shared with her interviewer. “A new live tour will come after the new music. It could be a while. Basically, I’m saying, I hope everyone’s patient!”

Twain will perform a show in the Buffalo area on July 19th before heading back to her native Canada for additional concerts to conclude the tour. Although New York isn’t quite home, the singer shared that the northern part of the U.S. has “a very similar feel.”
