Sabrina Carpenter’s collaboration with country music legend Dolly Parton has launched a nationwide conversation about aging gracefully.
Parton teams up with the 25-year-old singer for a new version of her hit song “Please, Please, Please” that is part of Carpenter’s new deluxe edition of her album Short n’ Sweet.
To celebrate the single, Dolly Parton posted a video of the two meeting on her Instagram account, with the caption, “Turns out, two things can be short and sweet 😉 Listen to “Please Please Please (feat. Dolly Parton)” everywhere now! ❤️”
In the video, as the pair has their picture taken, Dolly says,“This is Befores and Afters. You’ll be this old someday.” Carpenter responds, “I know, I can’t wait! I hope I look like you!”

Fans are giving Carpenter praise for the quick positive response to the 79-year-old singer.
In one reaction that has gone viral, a fan writes “this is so important to tell older women. i never let older ladies talk down on themselves near me, it breaks my heart how they don’t see their beauty just because of their age.”
Another compares the reaction to a scene in “The Barbie Movie,” saying “sabrina carpenter the real-life barbie that you are.”

Carpeter’s respect for the country icon runs deep. In fact, the Carpenter-Parton mash-up of “Please Please Please” features a lyric change, with Sabrina Carpenter and Dolly Parton singing, “I beg you, don’t embarrass me, like the others,” instead of the original, “I beg you, don’t embarrass me” and then an expletive.
Dolly teased Sabrina about the original lyrics, saying “You and your dirty words! I can’t say them words for my kids.”
