Riley Green Surprises Fans With Big Announcement

With “Worst Way” remaining a strong presence on the country music charts and a tour in full swing, Riley Green has given fans a lot to celebrate this summer. Now, he’s made a surprise announcement: he’s dropping a new EP. Green took to Instagram with the announcement yesterday, which included a clip of an acoustic version of “Change My Mind.”

“I have always loved the acoustic versions of songs, so I cut a few for y’all just the way I wrote them,” Green captioned the post. The EP, “Midtown Sessions,” includes five acoustic songs. In addition to “Change My Mind,” the track list also features a stripped-down version of “Worst Way” and “Jesus Saves.” Green also covers a Tim McGraw classic, “The Cowboy in Me,” and is even debuting a brand-new song, “Bartender in Destin.”

Fans Are Already in Love With the ‘Midtown Sessions’

Green’s Instagram post quickly amassed nearly 100,000 likes, and fans are already singing the new EP’s praises. “I’m on season 25 of this song,” one fan wrote in response to the “Change My Mind” clip. “These sound like they’ll be on repeat for a concerning amount of time,” another fan said.

“Bartender In Destin,” the only new song on the EP, tells the simple but memorable story of a person who has their heart stolen by the track’s title character. Fans in the comments section of a YouTube lyric video for the song had plenty of praise to share. “This man simply cannot make a bad song,” one fan said. The song comes courtesy of songwriters Sam Banks and Nick Walsh.

Green is Still Touring For Much of 2025

Fans who would love to hear these new acoustic songs live might get their chance this year. Green still has plenty of tour dates on the calendar for 2025, though tickets may be hard to come by for some venues. As his official website reports, the UK leg of the “Damn Country Music” tour is all sold out.

Stateside, Green has concerts lined up for well beyond the summer, including festival and arena performances throughout the fall. In December, he’ll play two shows at Resorts World Las Vegas, his last scheduled concerts for the year as of this publication.
