It’s hard to imagine that there are many milestones left for Reba McEntire to achieve, given all of the success she has achieved after decades in country music. However, the “Fancy” singer just achieved a new personal best this year, and it’s all thanks to her collaboration with Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert.
As American Songwriter shared, the trio’s debut single, “Trailblazer,” was an instant hit, and it has now become the most popular streaming debut of McEntire’s career. In its first week, the single brought in a stunning 2.6 million on-demand streams. Fans are clearly loving this country music dream team’s first release, which could potentially eclipse McEntire’s other hits as her most-streamed song of all time.
‘Trailblazer’ Was Love at First Listen for McEntire

Country music listeners aren’t alone in loving “Trailblazer;” McEntire was a fan right away, too. As she explained to Billboard, her first impression was overwhelmingly positive. “I remember listening to it in the dressing room,” the singer shared. I couldn’t find a flaw in it, not a word. It was that great. I was very emotional when I heard it.”
As Billboard also shared, Wilson and Lambert joined forces with Brandy Clark to write the song, and they had a McEntire collab in mind while doing so. The pair was reportedly nervous about sharing the song with the “I’m a Survivor” singer at first, but her reaction made it clear that the trio could move forward with the single. Its debut became a stand-out performance at the 60th ACM Awards.
The Trio Have Formed a Genuine Friendship

Record-setting single aside, McEntire and her fellow singers have built a genuinely supportive relationship during their time in the music industry. As McEntire told Billboard, the trio all have some important traits in common. “We’ve got that camaraderie; we’ve got that helpful nature,” she said. “If somebody needs something, the others come in to help.”
Even more importantly, the singer emphasized that people’s perceptions of the music industry being solely focused on competition isn’t true for everyone, and it isn’t the way she approaches things. “There’s enough room in this business — and all businesses — for everybody to be successful,” McEntire said. “We’ve just got to help each other and share what we’ve gone through and say what didn’t work.”
