The singer has sung many covers in her day, but one recent example surprised many of her fans: Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now.” Music Mayhem shared a TikTok video of McEntire performing the song at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March 2025. The video’s comments section is full of heart emojis and praise for the country music icon’s rendition of the hit song.

However, this wasn’t the only time — or even the first time — McEntire covered “Don’t Start Now.” In another TikTok video from February 2025, McEntire performed the song for a Plant City, Florida, audience at a strawberry festival.

McEntire Would Like to Work With Lipa in the Future

Artists typically cover songs they love, but the story goes a little further with McEntire and “Don’t Start Now.” As a source close to the singer shared with Life & Style, McEntire respects Lipa’s work and has an amicable relationship with her. “Reba didn’t just choose to cover Dua’s song out of thin air,” the source said. “She’s a huge fan and they’re actually friends.”

The source also explained that McEntire would love to work with Lipa. “She’s throwing out different ideas, including doing a song together.” Lipa hasn’t publicly discussed a collaboration as of this publication, but the source did suggest that the two signers might join forces on the silver screen. “Reba is also throwing around the idea of having her come on as a guest star on the next season of her sitcom.”

In a throwback TikTok video CMT shared, McEntire performs an unplugged cover of Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy.” The performance happened way back in 2010 at the CMT Awards, and fans in the video’s comments section loved McEntire’s rendition of the hit song.

McEntire has also used cover songs to showcase her sense of humor. The film “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die” includes a scene that mentions McEntire, and the country queen lent her voice to a very surprising cover track for the movie. As a Country Minute TikTok video explains, McEntire recorded a version of Inner Circle’s “Bad Boys,” and fans can hear a small clip of it in the video.
