Whoops, it looks like Post Malone took quite a tumble! The singer was on stage during his Glendale, Ariz., stop, attempting to toast a very lucky fan while holding a red Solo cup during his hit song “Pour Me a Drink.”
And in case you’re wondering, no, it wasn’t part of the choreography. The fall happened mid-performance of his track with Blake Shelton, when gravity unfortunately had other plans. The spill took place on June 21 at State Farm Stadium, and yes, there’s already a viral video.
With a Solo cup in hand and that cowboy swagger we all love, the “White Iverson” singer was mid-performance, belting out the line “I’ll be breaking my back,” when the stage decided to take it literally. In the video, he’s seen confidently strutting down the catwalk to toast a front-row viewer and quickly crouching to clink cups.
Unfortunately, instead of trying to make contact with the drink, he made eye contact with the floor. A section of the platform gave way beneath him, sending the 29-year-old flying forward in what can only be described as a boots-up belly flop. Cue the crowd’s collective gasp, and the internet frenzy. One fan who captured the moment on TikTok captioned it, “I didn’t mean to almost break your back,” with a crying emoji, referencing the song.
“I am SO sorry Austin. I love you! Such an amazing show ❤️,” the same fan added in the comments, tagging the artist by his real name, Austin Post.
Not His First Rodeo (or Fall)
If this feels familiar, that’s because it kind of is. Post Malone has taken more spills than he probably should have. Back in September 2022, he made headlines for falling through a trapdoor during his “Twelve Carat Tour” stop in St. Louis. That stage had a hole designed for a guitar lift, and Malone stepped right into it mid-performance of “Circles,” landing hard, ribs first.
After being helped offstage, he returned like a champ. “I want to thank you for your patience, and I’m sorry there was a big-ass hole in the stage,” he told the crowd. He later reassured fans in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter): “We just got back from the hospital, and everything’s good. They gave me some pain meds and everything, so we can keep kicking ass on the tour.”
Fast-forward to Glendale, and Posty’s resilience hasn’t skipped a beat. Despite the fall, he got back up and powered through the final five songs of the night like a pro. Because nothing, not even a stage malfunction, can stop a Post Malone show.
The ‘Big A*s Stadium Tour’ Rolls On
Malone’s “Big A*s Stadium Tour,” which kicked off earlier this summer, features support from fellow genre-blender Jelly Roll. The tour has been drawing massive crowds and is set to wrap up in London on Sept. 8. That is, if the stages behave themselves. (We’re crossing our fingers.)
As for the Arizona moment, fans are still flooding social media with a mix of concern and comedy.
“You know he was laughing after that lol,” one fan wrote. Another joked, “He wanted to cheer so bad!” And perhaps the best comment of all? “He fell for you!”
All jokes aside, the good news is Posty walked away unscathed. Maybe just with a slightly bruised ego and one more viral moment under his belt. Classic Posty, if you ask us.
Because if there’s one thing we know about Post Malone, it’s that he’ll always get back up. Solo cup in hand, ready to raise a toast, even if it’s from the floor.
