Morgan Wallen Brings Solutions on ‘I’m the Problem’ Tour

Morgan Wallen’s tour might be called “I’m the Problem,” but the singer is showing he’s the solution for local high school student musicians along his tour stops.

Wallen kicked off his tour Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 with two shows at Houston’s NRG stadium.

And while he was in the Lone Star state, he helped out Houston’s up-and-coming musicians by donating musical instruments to two Houston high schools.

According to a press release by Big Loud Records, James Madison High School and S.P. Waltrip High School were both beneficiaries of Morgan Wallen’s ‘2025 Tour Give Back Initiative.’

Wallen’s “Morgan Wallen Foundation” (MWF) manages the initiative. Three dollars from every ticket sold on the tour goes to MWF, which supports sports and music programs for kids.

On the MWF website, Morgan explains why his charity’s focus is on athletics and music for kids, saying, “The Morgan Wallen Foundation combines my love of sports, music and community service. Without sports and music, I don’t know where I’d be. I know my life would look a whole lot different, so I want to give great opportunities to kids in these areas. In addition, MWF lends a helping hand when we see communities in need.”

Morgan Wallen Brings Local Icons Along for the Ride

Morgan Wallen brought plenty of surprises to his first two stops on his “I’m the Problem” Tour.

On the first night, Wallen walked out on stage accompanied by Houston Texans former wide receiver Andre Johnson, and Jim McIngvale, better know to Houston residents as furniture chain empresario “Mattress Mack.”

Morgan posted a video on Instagram of the trio as they prepared to take the stage, with the caption, “houston, we got a problem” In the video, Mattress Mack appears to show Morgan a briefcase full of cash as the singer laughs.

On night two in Houston, the singer upped the ante again, flanked by former pro baseball pitcher Roger Clemens and rapper Drake as he walked to the stage.

The Instagram video of the three greeting each other before the show seemed to promise more of the same in upcoming tour stops, with the caption, “all summer long”.

Wallen Tells Fans He’s Playing His Most Personal Songs

Once Morgan Wallen was up on stage, he got personal with the fans.

According to Big Loud Records, Morgan told the crowd, “I appreciate you choosing to spend your Friday night here with me at NRG Stadium. Before I get any further, I’d just like to say shout out to Andre Johnson and Mattress Mack for doing my walk out with me – a couple of Houston legends, and I appreciate that. I appreciate you guys for giving me such a warm welcome, I can already tell we’re going to have a good time.”

But when he got a little deeper into his set, Morgan decided to switch things up, telling fans, “This point in the show is usually where I play the album track, the tour title, but we decided to switch it up. I’m gonna play one of my most personal songs, and one of the songs that means the most to me right now off this new record, and I hope you all like it too,” before playing “I Got Better.”

Morgan Wallen Wants to Look Fans in the Eye

At one point, Morgan Wallen moved to a smaller stage toward the back of the venue to perform an acoustic set.

He explained the move to the crowd, saying, ““We started out at bars in the afternoons, and we worked our way up to what it is now, and that still blows my mind a little bit. I thought about everything that it’s taken to get to this moment right here, and it wouldn’t be possible without you guys and your support – it means a lot to me, I know it means a lot to my team.”

Wallen went on, “One thing that I miss about playing those smaller places is I could go out on stage every night, and I could pretty much look at every single person in the eyes. That’s not possible now, but this is my best attempt at getting a little bit closer to you, so I want to sing a few songs back here, acoustic-style.”
