Country singer Miranda Lambert has her sights set on the Country Music Hall of Fame.
But not YET.
Lambert is in her 20th year of releasing mainstream country music- which means she is now eligible to be tapped to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Nevertheless, Miranda says she’s not ready.
“I have a lot of work to do before I get in there, and I know it, but that’s okay,” Lambert told “Taste of Country Nights.”
When show host Evan Paul expressed disbelief, asking, “You think so?” Miranda quickly replied, “Yeah! You gotta earn that. You gotta earn that spot, and I’m willing to do the work.”
Miranda Lambert Says She’ll Get There
While Miranda Lambert says there are “so many people” who deserve to be inducted into the CMHOF ahead of her, she makes it clear that it will happen for her.
“I’m gonna be in there, I’m gonna be in there. Just, at the right time,” she tells Paul.
The 2025 class of CMHOF inductees includes June Carter Cash, Kenny Chesney and producer Tony Brown.
Miranda Lambert is Focused on Celebrating 20 Years of ‘Kerosene’
Miranda Lambert’s debut album, “Kerosene,” turned 20 in March. The title track was a major hit at the time.
The album was released for the first time ever on vinyl in April to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Lambert also celebrated the milestone at this year’s ACM Awards, singing the title track alongside newcomer Ella Langley, who paid homage to Lambert by wearing a white tank top reading “Mama Tried,” for the performance.
That’s what Miranda Lambert wore in the official music video for “Kerosene” in 2005.
Miranda Lambert Says Morgan Wallen Deserves CMA Entertainer of Year
While Miranda Lambert may think she has work to do before earning one of the ultimate awards in country music, she’s quick to praise others for their work.
When “Taste of Country Nights” host Evan Paul asked her who deserves to when the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award in November, Miranda says, “I have to say Morgan [Wallen] because he is out there slaying. Because I mean, you play for that many people in a weekend.. that is a huge deal and I think he’s, I respect him as an artist. He’s really authentic, who he is. And he’s playing for stadiums full of people multiple nights. That’s entertainment, you know?”
About 100,000 people attended Wallen’s sold out “Sand in My Boots Music Festival” in Gulf Shores, Alabama May 16-18. It was Wallen’s first time hosting the festival. In an Instagram post, Wallen wrote, “pretty good first try at this festival thing I’d say.”
